Default Mobil1 Oil Filter

I got my Mobil1 oil filters in and opend the box to find they are not the fleece material. The box says it is a synthetic (paper) material. Has anybody had experiece with this filter?

Looking at other Threads it looks like the fleece filter is the long life for 15K oil changes and the paper is 12K...is this right?

I prefer the fleece myself. My first change I used the paper because that is what they had at the store. Since I only put on about 8000 miles yearly, the paper would be no problem. I guess it depends on how many miles you plan to drive between oil changes. I change mine once a year.

I usuall change my dino oil at 3K and Syn at 5-7.5K. I use Syn Mobil1 in my 07Harley Ultra Classic and change it every 5K with new filter.

I know some Vett folks that go 15K on syn oil but change the filter at 7.5K and add new syn oil to make up for what the filter has absorbed.

If you do that with the Crossfire, you may not have to add any oil due to where the filter is located.
