You don't know me yet but you will. First post, but I've been trolling this awesome site for a few weeks now. Getting ready to pick up a Xfire for my GF and I in the next few weeks. Due to my OCD with cars I've been researching and reading non stop about the xfire's and all there is to know about them. I came across this one on Ebay and it has me scratching my head. SRT and AMG badges, but Limited wheels and interior.

Does this make sense to anybody? Or is something not right here?

Not an SRT6. Just a limited. "Special addition". ????

 

"special edition" is this what Chrysler called the two tone seat option?

 

Well, they had one with SRT wheels and I believe a seat option. I don't think that is one. But I'm not up on limited

 

Sweet deal on a clean looking low mileage roadster and a 6 speed too
I hope to find this kind of deal in a couple of years when I'm ready to sell my coupe for a 6 speed roadster

Glad he edited that... Stated stock exhaust sounded great.. then went on to talk about the Magnaflow exhaust.. LOL. Think the "I'm an AMG SRT6" would have to go.. LOL.

Hmm.. ran some numbers.. finish paying mine off.. should then be easy to finance with Wells Fargo.. 4 yrs at 385 a month @ 15k $85 a month over my current payment..

I saw that was going to go there and see if they know that it is a mercedes V6 or did someone put a srt4 into it.

 

Ahh.. that explains it.. cold air intakes at the fog lights for the srt4!

 

And she's no longer available as wife was on the phone to Wells Fargo.. oh well clears the way for a buy it now option on the next one to pop up..

 

You should check out Penfed.org not too many places can beat the interest rate. I've used them for the past 3 cars. 1.74% for used cars.

 

Wells currently holds the note on my car and her Tahoe so it was just a quick call to see about paying mine off and getting a pre-approval for the amount. Not an issue for now though.. LOL. It's all good.. there will be more to come..

The easy answer to "What is a Special Edition" is:

A special edition is a base Roadster with RED paint, satin side stakes, and satin door handles.
The rims were from the SRT6 (or sure look like it).
One odd thing is, the SE was available with an Automatic as an option - the Base was not.

The SE had:
The Base's el cheapo sound system
The Base's Manually adjustable cloth seats
No Chrome door trim
No fog lights
All the black trim of the base

In pictures and in person, I noticed that the SE had a deeper Red color than the limited.
I had a picture of my red limited sitting next to an SE on a lot and you could see the difference.

 

Yes, same wheels...only difference was the insides of the SE were painted grey. I've suspected the SE was a product of Chrysler getting rid of large quantity of parts they had been storing. And yes, the reds are different. The SE is a deeper/darker red.
