Convertible top question
Hey Folks
Well, I have another newbie question. This time it concerns the convertible top on my 2005 Roadster. This is not the original top, but was replaced last year by Chrysler under warranty.
I talked w/the 303 tech rep who told me the water test on the top isn't always accurate because the high end cars like MB could use a fabric top that when tested w/water would appear to be vinyl.
He suggested I call the Chrysler dealer. Well, I did & they are still dumb. Where I am going w/this rabbit chase is to ask does anyone know what type of tops we have & the best way to tell. I am ready to order some 303 but the material used would make a difference on the type of protectant ordered.
Can anyone offer some suggestions? HELP!!

If it is an OEM Chrysler top, then it is most likely Haartz Sonnenland Acrylic weave fabric. Here is the link to the Haartz corporate site that lists the Crossfire:

Why not wait a few days, we can meet up after you get back to Bowdon and you can take a look at my top and compare. Mine is still OEM and I have always used 303 on it.
Folks, this is a reply I got from the manufacturer of the top:
Hello George,
Thanks for contacting The Haartz Corporation.
The top on your 2005 Crossfire is a fabric top.
We recommend the following products for cleaning and protecting your top material. Please visit the following website www.wolfsteins.com and click on "Products" then "RaggTopp" and then choose the fabric link.
Alternatively,
The company “303 Products”, provides products for cleaning and protecting your top as well. Their website is www.303products.com. If you click on the link under “Product Categories” then “Kits” it will take you to the 303 ® Fabric Convertible Top Kit.
Their reply clears up a lot for me. Now, I can order tomorrow what I need to clean & protect the top.

It always has been; and ever shall be '303' for me. I take my XF thru the rag type auto wash and the roof still beads after every rainstorm we have.
