And im just over here trying to build a race car...
Howdy! My names bud I live down in south Texas. I own a beautiful 2005 crossfire limited. I also have a 78 bronco but were here to talk about a crossfire! As the title is put, its a joke between me and my friends, whether its a mass debate in politics or a foreign war we always say, and I'm just over here trying to build a race car! But sadly since I'm new to well new cars and I have done work only on a 36 year old behemoth of a truck I'm somewhat lost! I'm looking to find things to help boost performance and power, any tips and or input on what to slap on her? So far all I know to put in is a eurocharge tuning kit, past this I'm lost? I don't know anything about chips or turbos or super chargers or anything so help me out? I'd love input on anything! Anything you could suggest to add? Any reviews on products? Dos Nd don'ts?
Re: And im just over here trying to build a race car...
You are pretty limited to what you can do to a limited...sorry about the pun. The sprint booster just opens the throttle body instantly with no hesitation. No HP gain. Some have went to a larger throttle body, done the tune, exhaust and gained some HP. Only a few have had any luck with adding a s/c or turbo. The ECU has been an issue to get them to perform properly. The SRT is an option to trade up to if you like your XF....different motor, but only in an automatic. This turns some off, but, mine is a handful, so I don't miss the clutch or the gear changing. I drive for a living, so I get to shift enough...

LOL Well since you don't know, your in exactly the right forum. Detailed adventures on modifying crossfires abound here on crossfire forum. Wild successes and abysmal failures all for your perusal and learning. Since you admittedly know little, I wont point out anything to you, other than to get reading and determine what you feel comfortable doing. ( most start with a CAI, and a few hardy souls just install supercharged 55's.)
Happy reading!
