Technically born in Karmann factory, Germany and "delivered" in South; to one of Chrysler's 9 chosen, lucky States!?! And it is the "right" chosen model year: 2005. Congratulations!

Most people assume that Chrysler's 9 State limit is related to climate. However, any of that group could be moved any time after sale to any State and still be covered. So climate is NOT a deciding factor. This can only mean that there was some kind of change in production; which there is NO evidence of. The failures became commonplace several years after production ceased. Chrysler has never published any explanation to my knowledge. The only criteria are model year, State of delivery, & 10yr/100,000mi. Period.
Chrysler has been Bull-S**ting all of us and NHTSA for years and "there oughta be a law" against this practice.

after my local dealer rejected a replacement, they advised me to either have it replaced by them at $3000. with the same top and construction or go home and try to "glue it" myself. I figured that if the original failed and nothing was changed as to construction of the top, I had nothing to lose , so I took their advice and "glued" it with a 3M product # 5200, a marine product and it is holding very well so far and looks good too..
