Does anyone know if they are different between the roadster and the coupe? Need one for my wife's 05 roadster Limited and possibly may have one but it's off a coupe.

 

Word has it they are the same.. If it's from Ebay.. please note the seller name and do a search here. "warning" thread.

 

Oh boy didn't notice. I'm really desperate for one. Guess the search continues...

There is a difference between the Coupe and Roadster top windshield molding, as well as the part numbers.

The Coupe # is A1936700087 and it has two rubber molding pieces, one on the windshield side and on that butts up against the roof line for fitment and insulation against the metal portion of the roofline. This prevents the rubbing of the plastic molding against the metal roof.

The Roadster # is A1936700187 and it has one rubber molding facing the windshield, since the top portion of the moulding rests against a thick rubber molding that surrounds the windshield.

There is a solution for you, if you want to use the Coupe molding, just remove the "top" rubber gasket with an exacto knife. It will adhere to the top of the Roadster windshield perfectly.

I also just lost the top molding, I was reading you thread and the links do not work for the warning to avoid scam. can you tell me what the scam on ebay is? or give me a working link. and is there a reasonably priced source for these?
