I've had my Roadster 2 yrs, it has high mileage of 230,000 KMs, still doesn't use a drop of oil between services, engine still very quiet, even on a cold startup. Usual problems, nothing major so far. Great little car.

Great, glad to hear it is still going strong but what you should say it does not use any appreciable amount of oil, if it did not use oil it would have seized up long ago and not have done 230k.

First, nevsr buy a special car for your wife or loved one. It's a huge mistake. Used xfires are for car guys mostly. The car has quirks and a used one could be a PITA. I am a retired Chrysler Corporation executive and can tolerate certain issues because I 'm a car nut also. In addition , forget a Porsche, Maseratti, and Triumph TR 6, they will cause you grief. However, if those diamonds are for your own exclusive use, have a ball.

I've had three, can't find anything lI like as much. Over nine years, I've learned a lot about them and even some of the electrical issues don't really scare me anymore.

BUT........

If you are the type that takes the car to a dealer for everything, go get her a Miata or Sky or Solstice or 350Z, etc. I've had the valve cover leak, back window issues, and other more minor issues and I resolved them all myself. If you are not one who tinkers with the car himself, you need to find one like my Graphite - higher miles and never an issue. Many of the cars are like that. My SE has needed more attention, as it was a low miles car that had sat a lot. Had I taken the car to dealers for the issues, I'd have sold it long ago.
