Car is dead!
Pulled the car in the garage after a nice drive!! Went out this am. And couldn’t unlock the door with the key fob?? Then realized everything was completely dead!!! Even my KEY FOB!! ??? Battery is now unhooked and being charged as it was showing 6.8 volts?? What could have caused this?? Am at a loss??
Many time it is the alarm siren shorting out and drawing down the battery. After it is charged try removing fuse # 9 and see if it holds a charge. Your FOB will nor open the doors until the fuse is put back. If it hods a charge over night, remove the cowl in front of the windshield and unplug the siren. Go to the crossfire forum and type in alarm siren in the search feature for lots of info.
It can be something in the car.
But I bought a new battery in 2016. Drove the car about every three weeks, one time, about 3-4 months after I bought the battery - I jump in the car (garaged so it was not locked) and NOTHING. The battery was around 3 volts.
The store exchanged the battery. Guy said, "Yea we see about one every six months that does that - no idea why."
If the battery refuses to charge, well, it died.
If the battery charges right back up - it is likely you have excessive current flowing.
