Convertible hydraulic strut
I’m a machinist/ engineer and I bit the bull it and got the top hydraulic units. Do you have them out? Looks like they part off the seal end of the cylinder and form/swage them back closed with the new seals. I’m sure it’s possible with at least a lathe, but it would be a steep learning curve on $500 cores.
Best of luck on this endeavor, make sure to take pics or video!

The vast majority of us work on our cars for the same reason you do.
In twelve years on this forum, I cannot think of anyone who has rebuilt their own hydraulic cylinders.

On a Wheeler Dealer episode (Saab's your uncle) Mike takes the cylinders from the Saab's top to "Top Hydraulics" and they show you how he repairs them. It involves a lathe to "part off" the old seal housing, and if I remember correctly they use a special seal housing manufactured for Top Hydraulics themselves, to renew the seal. Not sure it is something you could actually do yourself, but best of luck. I am of course assuming that the cylinders on the Saab are similar to those on the Crossfire.
