Hood repair anyone have ideas? Plastic
pull broke away from the hood latch release cable nipple.
Any ideas how to repair. I can pull with a lock wrench or
hammer claw but prefer to fix. ALSO: can the hood release be
done by inserting a long flat screwdriver through the grill?

This is a hood release lever for the merecedes slk 320 verify it's the same as crossfire $9.00, The crossfire part # 5096557AB but cost $49 also lube hood latch, cable still available

The hood can be opened by undoing some bolts accessed with a wrench at the top of the grille.
