re: UK Roadster Thread - drilling into the trunk
1)Pneumatically operated lock triggered by the button on the dash/console and the SKREEM module. (When locked, latch handle is "floppy".)
Roadsters have:
1) Pneumatically operated lock triggered by the button on the dash/console and the SKREEM module. (When locked, latch handle is "floppy".)
2) Electric lock operated by the Top Controller that locks the lid for the 28 seconds or so when the top is moving up or down. (When locked, latch handle is "Stiff" and won't move.)

He is convinced HIS car is unlike all the others because he is in the UK. But Robert on Facebook who lives in the UK and has a Roadster disagrees, and is going to try to help him locally.

re: UK Roadster Thread - drilling into the trunk
Even if the top is not working, the backdoor trunk lock release should still work if you do it correctly. I have done this many times to get into the trunk because someone's top wasn't working and the trunk won't unlock with the center console lock/unlock button.

I have a guy on Facebook who is near you and says he's like to help. I"ve asked if he's on the forum and am waiting a reply, I THINK he's here.

Really appreciate your help.
re: UK Roadster Thread - drilling into the trunk
Here's some pictures that might help with unlocking the trunk lid from either of the license plate light openings. These are on a LHD Crossfire and I don't know if RHD is reversed for the pneumatic lock and the Secondary Electric Lock Actuator Module.

Re: Please HELP! Need to drill into the trunk better video update:
Here some pictures that should help with seeing what you need to do, if you decide to drill the hole through the boot lid.

They also need to try to remove the security plate on the right side because if the Central Vacuum Locking Pump Module fails then they could still possibly need access to the pneumatic lock lever from the right side license plate light opening.

re: UK Roadster Thread - drilling into the trunk
Fine, but EVERY ONE OF US have gained access to a locked trunk without damage to the car. Read "Trunk Lid Jammed" in this section (Crossfire Roadster); NO ONE could be as clueless and inept as I was back in 2009 and even I got in without damaging my car. This individual is running his camera in too far, and missing the cam on the left, as you go in thru the right side tag light hole. Bob McCubbin has pointed that out but this poster does not believe Bob or I.
He is convinced HIS car is unlike all the others because he is in the UK. But Robert on Facebook who lives in the UK and has a Roadster disagrees, and is going to try to help him locally.

re: UK Roadster Thread - drilling into the trunk
I think the thing that went wrong here was that the emergency release did not work for you, I see you DID find it and pull on it.
This brings up something from 2009, I managed to open mine with the emergency cable, but the cam did break when I did so. The cam is plastic (stupid) and I wonder if yours is broken as well.
In any event, ya GOTTA disable that electric lock (which is easy, once you get the lid open and can take the trim panel out and access it.
I just can't believe they went this far, but on the OTHER hand, I do know that cars were been stolen at alarming rates in parts of the EU back then.
And I did not apologize YET, I am still in denial.
