This was shared by a Chrysler Employee regarding this difference in the UK Crossfires.......

Thanks for sharing this over in the Crossfire Facebook world,
Crossfire for the UK got yet additional anti-theft measures beyond what German insurance companies demanded.
There were "Thatcham" insurance ratings and inspections which drove things like that plate, and an ultrasonic intrusion detection system for UK cars.

Well, this is the result! It doesn’t really impact you guys across the pond but hopefully to save you having to repeat yourselves a thousand times per subject…you can point the Brits to this video. I will go back in and take more detailed photos of the now legendary anti-theft plates for the forum to ponder over. The vid is to try and encourage UK owners to do the mod.
Thanks Guys, you’ve made a disaster actually quite fun 🕺🏼

The best part of this thread is reading it and seeing how WRONG every one of us was.

"When you are 100% absolutely certain, you are also at risk of being absolutely 100% wrong". --- James Burke, BBC reporter, author and historian.

Got started in the 1800s:
