Bought my wife a convertible she kept wanting so I bought her a 2005 Crossfire Limited with only 39K miles on it and clean carfax. Suddenly she will not drive it so I will be glad to! Only dropped the top 4 times and the last time the top would not fully go down and and the rear cover it clicked into would not fully go down. Any suggestions? I tried the releasing the hydraulic tip on here but nothing. Again, want to thank previous members for giving me the fuse relay suggestion that saved me mucho $$$$. Wish there was a Cedes shop near me but the closest is 25 miles. Thanks for your assistance.
From what I see in the photos, I'd question the sensors on the rear box cylinder. But it could be mis adjustment of the rear bow latch - to be more sure would require seeing a video of the ENTIRE cycle from start to finish.

I am unsure of what you are saying. "Top fully down" means, to me, the top is down in the storage area, the lid is closed, and you are ready to go for a ride in the wind. "Top fully up" is where you put the top up and are ready to drive around in the rain.
I THINK what you are simply saying is that when you put the top UP, the rear bow does not latch into the lid. I THINK you also indicate that putting the top down works fine, but I am unsure of that.
If the top goes fully DOWN and stores correctly but will not to UP fully, in that the rear bow won't latch, is a sign of what I indicate above the quote box.
If the top ALSO does not go DOWN and store correctly, that would imply other issue(s).
Yes, Sorry I was unclear. The top had gone down but when putting it back up the rear lid did not fully go down which I assume caused a mis-alignment of the rear top strut. Now it will do nothing. Switch to top control blinks red and when pressing up or down it blinks and does nothing. Going to take it out tomorrow weather permitting and give the car a workout as I am guessing the non use gummed things up. Thanks
Have you tried pushing down on the rear bow and see if it lines up with the hole ... if it does, push a little harder and see if it will latch on the first click

Rear lid did not go fully down? THAT is a problem. If you really mean the tonneau lid did not close all the way, wow, that is a new one. If the lid did not go down all the way and the main cylinders and rear bow cylinder still moved to fullly put the top up, then the CLP/SSM REALLY had a fit! It should have STALLED when the lid did not go down all the way.
THis means the PTCM got information that the lid WAS down, which is not even possible - this is an ODD one.
I live on the north side of Fort Worth - maybe sometime you can bring it over and we can get into this. Iv'e had three roadsters, I've fixed COUNTLESS tops that were not working, and I have NEVER EVER heard one like this - but our cars ARE getting older and stuff is coming up we've not seen before.
I am very old and crippled and the weather has been very cold and wet where we live near Galveston so not paying full attention to the Crossfire. Did try disconnecting the battery hoping to reset any sensors and did not work. Drove it around but no success so going to try a hack on this site which I use a 6mm hex to release the rear lid and see if that works Other than that will take to someone who specializes in Cedes. Thank you for your kind, great and generous offer but just to far away.
