Ok, here is the prototype for our initial product. We will be dyno testing this weekend and the kit will go into production next week.

Options will be polished aluminum or Black Jet Hot Coated (probably the best for SRT). The system is full 3" pipe with the filter located OUTSIDE the engine compartment. This is the only way to pick up noticable gains. The only testing done so far is on the track with an N/A. We picked up 3 tenths and 0.6 mph in the quarter!

Pricing is tentative at $350.00 depending on coating and demand. Forum discounts will be provided.

The elbow in the picture will be black in production, the pipe will be completely polished or coated, and the welds will be nonexistent.

The setup pictured, also will not work on an SRT engine. It's totally different.

 

The pipe routing will work, the connection at the back is different. Filter placement and everything else is the same.

 

I think the bar has been set when comes manufactured CAI for S/C on this fourm (no name dropping ). So, I would advise finding out which company has our attention and match or beat there gains at a better cost.

Will you be able to place the engine cover on once you put on the tvt cai?

 

TVT is out of business now. You can go several routes including an SL-55 intake, custom make one, or go through Needswings. I think the most lasting, popular, and best customer service wise is Rob at Needswings. I would recomend dropping in on his site and checking out his SRT section.

Second that. You can't put a price on AMAZING customer service. I'll rep needswings until the day I don't own an SRT6...or SRT4...which will most likely be never.

 

I'm surprised that one of those Ebay knock-off companies didn't replicate TVT's design. It looks pretty straight forward (two pipes, a few bends and a weld). Not a bad design. Shame they went out of business. I know they have a bad reputation on this site, but I didn't have a problem purchasing from them.

 

I know this is an old thread and I know TVT is long gone but the Roadster I recently purchased has the TVT CAI on it and I cant figure out how to remove the filter to clean it
It is located by the drivers side fog lamp but the clamp that holds it is not accessible
Anyone else here remember these or have one who could help me out ??

Just guessing because I haven't seen one of these. Would you loosen and separate the tubes at the midway point and pull the whole lower assembly up towards you?

 

I wish I could but the flex tube is snaked way in behind the headlight and then down in a very curved way and the filter could never be pulled up to access it.
I suspect I need to remove the inner wheel well to access the clamp that holds the filter to the flex tubing.
Much different compared to the Needswings CAI that was on my Coupe

 

Ask Eurocharged, the honcho there was involved in TVT at one time I recall. Sorry it was LET.
Or you could use the Padgett solution, a Sawzall.

 

Valk, I removed one for a member a few years ago and we had to remove the front bumper to get it back on , it was a pain in the a** to remove and reinstall. where the filter is mounted (you would think it would stay dry) when we took his out it was wet and soft. lots of water in Florida, seams like the water splashes into the filter. ,,, about 3 months later went with the Needswings .

 

I'm considering removing the entire thing and putting my OEM airbox with my K&N filters back on and maybe I'll watch for a used Needswings CAI in the meantime
I can imagine water splashes into the filter considering where it is located by the fog lamp and I question how much air it can take in there to
