Emphatically "YES"

 

Would I have still bought a Crossfire knowing all of the issues? Probably. Would have taken a closer look at the SRT-8s but still think I would have eventually gone with the SRT-6.

Yup! Lurking around this forum for a couple of months sold me on my Coupe, reading more about the SRT & watching the prices falling convinced me that now was the time. The SRT needs a passenger side speaker replacement & it has some squeaks from the rear brakes but that's warranty stuff & no big deal. Besides that both the '04 & the SRT have been trouble free.
In a heartbeat w/ no second thoughts!

 

I've heard of the problems but every car I've had has had some problems. I mean corvettes, porsches, mb's. & bimmers but you know I loved every one of them. We've had a 2005 srt 6 graphite roadster for over six months and love it, so far no problems. If I were younger I would want a six speed but the auto shifts well and at 59, I'm getting a little lazy. The car turns on a dime and power is more than enough. I was going to keep my 96 840 ci bmw. It is still perfect but I just don't drive it anymore. If I would to go out and have fun then the keys to the bikes or the srt come out.

Absolutely. Every production run of automobiles has "issues", and I think the crossfire's issues are minor, if not trivial. What a great vehicle.

BTW, the issues with this car have been few and easily fixed once a proper
diagnosis was made. All cars have issues within their line, as nothing built
by us humans is perfect. So, on the balance, I'd take another SRT-6, with
known issues overy most any other car. Even were the price point to return
to MSRP.

Not a chance would have kept my 05 GTO.

 

I knew I was buying a sportscar - so I expect a car with a stiffer suspension and no cup holders.

I knew I was buying a Chrysler - I expect huge depreciation.

I knew I was buying a technical high-performance car - and I expect a few quirks.

If you enjoy your car - they are "quirks". If you just want a ride - I guess you can call them "issues".

I was skeptical I would would enjoy this car as much as my previous car. But the more I drive it , the more I like it. I would definitely buy another and can't believe I lucked out to find the "new" SRT I did at a bargain price. I usually am the one that watches others get the great deals and when I finally decide to go for it - too late. If I had to spend $50,000 on a car, then I would definitely think twice ( and three times, then four, etc) but am glad I "jumped" into this decision and have not regretted it one minute.

 

The dealer support is by far the most annoying thing about this vehicle. Another annoyance is the huge depreciation factor. I don't like to feel that I am stuck with a car, even if I want to keep it, it's nice to know that you can sell a car quickly in case of a financial emergency. This car? Not a chance. My g35 unloaded in two days!! Yes, two days at asking price.

A lesser annoyance is the fact that I hate having to worry about when my hatch will start rattling again so that I can readjust the stops, and put more adhesive tape under the stops to keep the thing from rattling like a rattle can. I've also never seen such dirty brakes on a car. I can fix that with some Rotex Gold pads though.

 

I would definitely still purchase a Crossfire. I love both of mine. There's nothing else like them on the road.

 

Without a doubt I would do it again. This is a keeper. Give it a chance and you will see the value increase. All the cars I sold in the past are now BIG MONEY autos. Enjoy the ride and hold on to it for sure and keep it clean.

 

YES!!! I thinking of another roadster as transport around my winter home, in the "Sun Belt"or Lake Chapala, Jalisco . However the "TOPES" in the small villages scare my wife as she thinks I will get hung up on them due to the 5 inch clearance.

 

Yeah rear diffs failing and front tires shredding are no big deal. GTO is the way to go.

 

DITTO!! Some have bigger issues, like the GTO.

 

My 04 G35 had very dirty front brakes.

 

Wow, pathetic I knew someone would react this way... a question gets asked and I give an honest answer, deal with it.

Never had any problems with my GTO which had 3 times the miles of my SRT-6. So far in owning my SRT-6 I have had the seat bolster repaired, heated seat repaired, interior door handle replaced, paint is coming off the roof, etc. It's absolutely pathetic the car has barely 12 thousand miles on it! Horribly built to say the least (and it's not just mine check out this post if you don't believe me: https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...ad.php?t=21383.) Let's not even get into resale value, I had my GTO for a year and sold it for more than I paid for it! I've had the SRT-6 about 6 months and the value has dropped THOUSANDS!

SRT-6 is a fun car don't get me wrong, definately a unique experience, but as far as the question goes, there is no way in hell I would buy one again.

And no my SRT-6 was not a track experience car and yes I got a great deal on my SRT-6.

Since I already own the thing I'm going to enjoy it until I can pay it off enough to sell it, simple as that. Sorry you got your feelings hurt.
