I was thinking about doing something like this using the push-button that you can find on the SRT-10 Ram...but never got around to researching it too much.

I'm 'subscribing' to hear everyone's opinions/experiences with remote start.

hmmm that sounds interesting but it also sounds kinda complicated and expensive but it does seem worth researching.

I think 90% of people in Michigan have remote starts because it gets so dang cold. Not sure what brands folks use, but I will ask some friends.

I have a remote start system installed in my limited coupe. It should be similar to the SRT6. If you like convenience, then the remote start is the way to go. IMO you will lose in the security department because you will have to put the key inside the car. There are no keyless bypass modules for our car that I know of. Without the actual key itself it is very difficult to steal the crossfire unless they had certain equipment.

From what I've read that's the only option. So did you have another key made or used your spare? I thought I read it has to be installed under the dash next to the ignition.

I used a spare key that I had. The key is in the vicinity of the ignition, so it would not be too hard for a thief to find it. I will probly have it removed soon.
