LET Motorsports Pulley Special!!
I received and installed my 185 pulleys today!!!! I even timed myself just to see how long it really takes..............from hood open, teardown, install and hood close it took me 19 minutes total. The car is running pretty strong and I'll be doing some freeway pulls to see exactly where it's at with my Zeitronix boost,AFR, EGT gauges.

I have travelled the "kaboom" road before..........though not entirely my fault. I am also running E85 on the 6 along with the 185pulley which nobody has ever done before so monitering is a MUST. With just SL55 complete assy. the car was running a 10.6 AFR to redline(in 3rd gear) on 91 premium gas while holding 14.5psi of boost and an EGT of 850*.............we'll soon see what she's running at now.
Ok, received mine today....are there instructions somewhere on the LET website....or should I just know how to put this thing on?
Did anyone else get instructions with their pulley?

I installed a Boost and IAT gauge before mods... Wish I had an EGT (essential gauge on a airplane) along with a A/F and oil pressure..

Pretty easy...
I dropped my SRT at Pro Performance tonight to have the 181 pulley installed. I think it will probably take more than 19 minutes though. The owner took my car for a quicky test ride because I wanted him to experience the before and after effect. When he returned his response to me was that the car already was already very fast and why I wanted it faster as he shook his head. This mechanic is the real deal. German, 6'3" the accent and a true Mercedes tech. We were talking about any other mods I was thinking about doing and I mentioned the CAI and reflashing of the ECU. He said that I should pick up 50-75 hp with all these changes. I told him I was looking at a bit over 400 HP.and seeing if I could hit low 12's in the 1/4 mile.
I pick her up Tuesday. ANTICIPATION
wATCH OUT gATOR, i AM coming for you. LOL

Me?? it won't even be race when you get the pulley on. The most I'll have done is the intake and a custom cat-back. We should be picking on everyone else

Professional installation is recommended. I have purchased pulleys from all the big tuners and none of them have come with instructions.
You strip out the crank and you're looking at a 6K+ plus repair bill.

Wow! 19 minutes. That must be the quickest pulley kit swap. I think I got ripped off by my local mechanic. He quoted 2.5 hours and charged me $183.xx. I know that it could be done in 1/4 of that time. Well I got to enjoyed it the last few days. On SUnday, some guy in a modded integra pulled along side on an empty Interstate and raced me. He couldn't keep up so I slowed down when I hit 105mph. He gave the peace sign and we went our own ways. That was my first race. THe car pulled really stong and in no time, it hit 100+. This is the best mod for the money. YOu can actually feel the power. Most other mods such as CAI, Exhaust, etc.. don't really make enough power to really feel significant different.
Ok, I picked up my SRT from Pro performance this afternoon. They said it took a bit more time then they expected to put on all the pullies. The mechanic had taken a drive in my xf yesterday and today after I returned from the miami 6 block run, he zipped out of the parking lot and it even sounded faster. He was pretty impressed with increase off the line. He kept the tc on.
I found that the initial pull was much better. The tc kept coming on since the tires were trying to spin. I turned that puppy off and the car grabbed pretty well, but I could spin the wheels for 20 feet or so with out any problem. I did not force the issue. I was is test mode. Zoom, zoom zoom..........opps !!!!! Wrong commercial.
Micheal, the mechanic, and I discussed future changes.
1. CAI
2. ECU reflashing or remapping
3. Stainless exhaust
He thinks that should increase the hp to over 400. Sounds good. LOL Don't ask if that's to the wheels about dyno ect ect ect. I am not a car guru, but I do like to go fast in a controlled manner.
Hopefully, LET will come out with a CAI and we will be able to keep the SRT engine cover and increase the hp and reduce the temperature equally to the competitors.
I might have to get a job that pays.

It's definately a job for someone that's mechanically inclined and has the tools necessary to complete the job properly.
As far as the guy with the 2.5 hour pulley swap quote goes, mechanics don't get paid "actual time" they get paid "flat rate".................that's how you make money.
Actual time=19 minutes
Flat rate= 2.5 hours
The only reason I can do mine so fast is because I'm familiar with the (M-B)cars, have all the tools and know the shortcuts to take(ex; not completely removing the serpentine belt).
I could see how some "techs" could struggle on the job if not familiar with how benzos are put together.

There's no need to jack the car up or remove any splash shields. Two clips on the top of the fan, unplug fan and remove. Then you have all the access in the world for everything to be changed out.

Tools? is a puller required? anything eles special?
I do not think it will be tough but being prepared would be great!
