The wheels actually look decent except for the rear offset...and it needs to be lowered. I'm not a huge fan of the stripes though. I think they may be a little too wide or too far apart...

I think I would have put them a little closer together also. All in all though, I don't think they look bad. But then I am a little biased since I have two other cars that came from the factory with "over the top" stripes.

Guys & Gals,
First time poster, long time lurker. As this car is only a few towns over from me, and I'm in the market for a SRT-6 convertible, I e-mailed the seller asking if I could drive over and see the car in person before bidding. I find it troubling that the guy is new to eBay and only posted 3 low res pictures of the exterior. The seller's exact response....
"well what r you willing to spend?"
Me thinks anyone who wants to try for this car be very careful!

Rlyons, well go check it out. 41K miles a bit much.
You can probably find better for same price or a bit more $,
with much less miles.
I like the stripes, but they a a bit to much.
It takes away from the SRT6 sleeper look..
Why new Top???

As for the stripes, they are a little too narrow and don't have the best color contrast to me. But, if they work for the car owner, more power to him/her.

Should've known there would be at least one of our fellow members who couldn't resist.

Alan Arkin rambling to Peter Falk in The In-Laws re his Bimmer: "There are flames on my car!"
Funny thing about Shelby stripes. I've driven in one real 289 AC Cobra and seen maybe another half a dozen other genuine ones. Not a single stripe. Every repro I've seen has the stripes. Same for every one of the so-called new N/A Shelby Mustangs (I guess it's something they can show to justify a $10k vig over a regular GT).
It's pretty inexpensive for a body shop to remove the stripes. It's only a decal.
SRT-6 has too many design elements in a short package to throw body stripes into the mix. If I were going to have a so-called Shelby stripe, which I wouldn't, a single 7" stripe down the center-line with a very thin pin-striping on each side to highlight it would do the least aesthetic injustice to the car.

If you were to use a "single" stripe down the center, I wouldn't call that a "Shelby" stripe. That would be more like the stripe that was offered from the factory on the 1964 Barracuda.

Even though the hood strakes present a problem when trying to apply over the top stripes on "any" Crossfire, I fully agree the SRT-6's extra design element (aka THE WING) offeres up a huge stumbling block to deal with.
I would never tell anybody not to try something if that's a certain "look" they're going for. But if stripes are what you want, I think they may come out looking better on a "Non-SRT". IMO.

the top of a coupe, but it does look rather appealing on the roadster.

Coyote
to the picture of the rear of the car, and the front doesn't seem to show
them, so I didn't see that there are already pinstripes on either side of
the main stripes.
I guess I can understand how some folks feel, not liking the look of the
stripes on a Crossfire. I'm sure it is just how I would feel were I to see
someone had painted flames on one. But, the stripes do appeal to me.
Maybe it has something to do with my up-bringing during the '60s and
my old man's predilection for drag racing. All the "hot" cars had racing
stripes! My favorite car, at that time, was the '69 Z28 sitting in our
garage. Dark Green Metallic flake with white racing stripes. So, I guess
it's just in my blood.
But, to other's point's regarding the "sleeper" quality of the Crossfire, it
is so only because most folks are familiar with the base or limited, and
few have experience with the SRT-6. The Crossfire does not look like a
sleeper, but in fact looks like a German auto-cross car. Nothing sleeper
about the looks, in my opinion. So adding stripes would not hurt that
image.
My only objection to adding racing stripes to the Crossfire is that it would
make what should be considered an "exotic" and moves it into the realm
of the "chevy". Aesthetically, it would not be un-appealing, but intellectually, it would be de-meaning.

There are several other non-bowtie cars that wear their stripes well. Most of them are chasing after Shelby's look though (Viper, Daytona, actual Shelby, etc..).
I too like stripes - I just don't like the way these were done.
I also think a really wide singe strip may look better...something in flat finish that is about the width of the grill opening. Paint the grill flat to match it. Hood only maybe?
Tough call - to each their own, and props to the guy for having the guts to modify it.
