Engine Bay Dress Up...C32
I'm sure some of you have seen this but I think it's looks awesome and a great idea if you want to dress up your engine. I would love to do something like that but if taking off the intake manifolds voids my warranty for the engine then I'll just have to wait. I also want to put on some heat wrap on my intake so a combo of the two would make the inside look pretty rugged.

I'd LOOVE to have those intake covers, and on the same note here's kind of a silly question...
Has anyone here placed AMG emblems ON their cars?
Now usually I think sticking fake emblems on cars is one of the tackiest, riciest things one can do and I laugh when I see them pass by on the street. However in this case our engines are absolutely AMG created, AMG tuned and AMG built... so would perhaps an AMG emblem on each fender be sacriledge? Hmmm...
Has anyone here done it?

My GTI and the Audi TT also share the same drivetrain and no way am I putting a TT emblem on the GTI, or GTI emblem on the TT. So putting an AMG on our Crossfires would be the same thing. I've seen peeps with 350Z's having GT-R emblems on their cars! What's wrong with them!

I like MAXXMs reply about the possibility of the emblems looking poseur-ish, which I essentially echo his sentiments...

We're not trying to pass off something as what it is not but, rather, as what it really is. The true "heritage" of the SRT6 is AMG, not Chrysler, which contributed virtually nothing to the important mechanical parts of the model. If anything is false about the branding, it's the Chrysler logo. And if the ignorant snob patrol doesn't like it, then they can just shove it.
However I'm going to take it even a step FURTHER and say that I wouldn't even remove the CROSSFIRE badging. The SRT-6 probably, but taking away the Xf badge takes away the car's identity which is not what I want to do. There is certainly truth to the fact that this is simply an AMG powered Chrysler. Much like Shelby has done brands other than Ford in HIS past.
It's certainly inexpensive to do either way.

AMG is not a name for a car. Which is why its SLK 32 AMG. And if you look around our car, many of the parts are acutal AMG parts with AMG engraved on them, suchs as the supercharger and brake calipers. So why not Crossfire SRT-6 AMG.
Why would I tart up a perfectly good Crossfire SRT6 and try and make it look like a run-of-the-mill Mercedes? If I wanted a freaking Mercedes, I would have bought one. I bought the Crossfires because they are so much prettier and there's a lot less of them.
Come on, guys, Get over the Mercedes envy.

At least adding an AMG badge to an SRT-6 is not being the typical poseur, the heart of the car was built by AMG... in fact, it's more AMG and Mercedes than Chrysler really, only cosmetically is it a Chrysler, but it's the cosmetics (and the price) that got me to buy it.

Adding the AMG badges outside is not my cup of tea but I'll likely be changing to the 2006 SRT-6 badging so I'm probably not in a place to judge either, but I just like the look.

My only nit is where exactly to put it. I suppose under the right tail lamp is indeed probably the best spot.
I thought about putting AMG badges on my Crossfire SRT but decided against it. Instead I installed Supercharged badges on my fenders and a SRT6 badge on the right lower corner of the glove box.
The crossfire was a joint venture by Daharmler Chrysler not Mercedes Benz.
You own an American car with German engineering not an SLK 32. Be proud of the fact that your car is unique and will become a cult classic in years to come.
