Question? Problem
I went to drive my SRT after it was sitting for about a week and the battery was dead(i think i left the lights on). I charged the battery overnight and now I can hear the starting trying to engage, but the engine isn't turning over? Does anyone know what could be the issue or had similar issues? I really don't want to have it towed plus i'm storing it in a week or two.
Thanks
Thanks
Depends on the charger. a 2 amp charger over night should get you going. A bigger charger gets it sooner, but if you access to a volt meter the battery should be 12.6 min AT REST and after charging up to 13.++.
The chargings system (alternator) should be about 1 volt higher running that off and up to 14.5 when cold.
I also use the od schoo method of blowing the horn to see if you have enough for that, does it sound like you have power?
Also turn on the dome light to see how much it dims , a visual voltmeter of sorts. Now turn it off.
Let us know how you do...Woody
Is there any visible corrosion on the battery terminals? Dont want any there for sure.

I had a similar problem. I went on vacation for a couple of weeks and left the key in the ignition. When I got back the battery was dead. I tried the battery pack and then AAA but neither jump worked. AAA carried it to the dealer and they said I needed a new battery and don't leave the key in the slot even in the off position. Haven't had a problem since then.
My 04 dyed a couple of times on me and I never could get it to go with a jump.Always had to charge the battery overnight or finally just replaced the dam thing.
If you have the older style battery that you can add water you can pull the plugs and measure the voltage across each cell. They should be at about 2.25V per cell. If one of the cells is very low it is bad and you need a new battery. I usually find the cell next to the ground terminal is the bad one. You can not do this with maintenance free batteries. drat!!
