You will be fine. my first night ever racing down a track in any car and by the 5th run that night i was pulling 1.8x 60ft and 13.1's i never took it above 1,500 rpms when launching and applied the throttle fairly quickly. hope that helps from idle you'll pull 2.0-2.1's dont worry .

The tie straps are the best traction mod I have done. I will be taking it to the track at least one time. I will just make sure I dont run like a high 13. I get mad when stuff like that happens. So I am trying to work everything out first.

I am wanting to get some slicks and a smaller front tire, and my new seats before we go tear it up
I have a set of Drag Radials we can bolt on!

That works very well when the car is stock. But as soon as you start adding power, you have to be very careful of your throttle control at launch, especially with stock tires. I'm really hoping that set of ET Streets I just ordered will put me back in the GO instead of SPIN cycle.

I usually stage at 1500 RPM too. You are so right, the trick is how quickly you roll on the throttle. And track prep is crucial. Good prep, you can apply the gas very quickly, even floor it right away, even on street tires. Bad prep, you have to roll into more slowly. My last run at Orlando, the track prep was so good I was able to stage at 1600-1700 RPM and floor it on street tires (see my sig. for mods). I got two 1.7x 60' doing this. My last two runs of that night were horrible, though, trying to launch the same way. The sticky stuff on the track must have worn down. I spun tire like no tomorrow.

I don't think anyone Dyno'd over 382 wheel Horsepower unless they used NO2. 382 is the most these cars are gonna give without nitrous with the limit being the supercharger.
