Default Alignment Questions??

I have my Crossfire SRT6 in for a alignment at a tire shop and was told the front is off about a degree, whatever that means.

He said that might be how it came factory because of the type of car it is, and mentioned something about casters....?
Sorry I don't have much detail but I just spoke briefly on the phone.

What is a caster and does that apply to the SRT6?

Does this sound right?

The guy was saying the tire was off one degree from spec. Here is an article that helped me understand the terms when I had my alignment issue. Still have that issue, lol!

To adjust the front alignment I am pretty sure you need new bolts.

Is the camber a part? Or is it something that you can adjust?

It is to my understanding that if the camber is off your wheels will have uneven tread wear.

From the article:

Camber is the angle of the wheel, measured in degrees, when viewed from the front of the vehicle. If the top of the wheel is leaning out from the center of the car, then the camber is positive ,if it's leaning in, then the camber is negative. If the camber is out of adjustment, it will cause tire wear on one side of the tire's tread. If the camber is too far negative, for instance, then the tire will wear on the inside of the tread.

I found the documentation and it it looks like -1.22 for the front and -1.13 for the rear is correct.
Hopefully it does not go beyond that. I've been reading the alignment info on here and looks like they sell camber adjustment bolts for around $20.00 a peice...... I think that should fix the problem if there is one.

Does this sound correct??

This is exactly what I am having Carmax do to fix a pull I have.

I had them order these bolts (I think its two per each front tire) to install.

Does that price seem accurate?

What are they charging for all the work?

I brought it to a tire shop that couldn't do camber adjustments but still want to charge me full price...... is that normal?

Good question. I'm not positive yet but this is an interesting thread on the subject:

Does part number 5140876aa adjust up to 1 degree? At http://www.chryslerpartsdirect.com

Is it for just the fronts, are the rear too?

How many need to be ordered for a full camber adjustment?

Update:

There is no update at this time, (except) I have my alignment readout and just need about 1 degree of adjustment for the front camber?
