It was brought to my attention that this is a one time use item. I was not aware of this when I installed mine and have gone about 5000 miles so far. Just wondering if anyone else reused the bolt and how many miles you have gone?

You're talking about the crank pullies, right?

If not, is there a risk? I have Code3, so do I need to replace my crank bolt with something beefy, too?

YES!!!! ALWAYS REPLACE THE CRANK BOLT WHEN REINSTALLING OR INSTALLING A CRANK PULLEY!!!!! if you dont, it will not be installed correctly.....the crank pulley must be tqed hard and the bolt is only good for one usage.....if you dont, you may end up with a wobbly crank pulley and a broken main seal....it happened to me for this reason

When you got the pulley kit from LET they included a new crank bolt. If it was a ASP kit I think everyone reused there factory one. Mercedes uses a torque amount I think 150 ft/lbs and then 90* turn. These are the settings usually done to achieve bolt stretch. It would probably be a good idea to replace the bolt but I don't know if you have too. It all depends on how much torque the factory bolt can take before stretch. When I built my vet I reused the stock crank bolt and there was never any problems

I used the same one, with my 178 kit. No problems. A couple of zaps with the Air gun. Hope it holds...

The OEM crank bolts are $5/each retail.................and should be replaced. Those that reused the old one, go buy a new one and put the two side by side before reinstall of new bolt and you will see that the old one is slightly longer than the new(because it stretches when torqued).

I did not. Guess I should though. Didn't know about the one-time use deal.

They cost 7.50 at the MB place by me.
Stupid question, I haven't installed my ASP kit yet, I'm waiting for the spring.
Car is in storage, and I can't check, there is only 1 bolt correct?
Correct, there is only one bolt for the crank pulley.
No MB dealers near me and every time I order a part from the local Chrysler dealer, it ends up being the wrong part.

You must remember that Chrysler buys the parts from M-B and then sells them to you so you pay even higher prices!!! I get all my parts from the M-B dealer that is 3 miles from my house.
