I just got mine a little while ago. I also have a stock SRT-6. I can't get the 1/4 mi yet because of all the people that keep getting in my way but I have been doing the 0-60. I've been getting 4.4 and 4.5's. Next week I get my first mods from Rob at Needswings. We'll see what kind of times I get then.

I finally got a chance to do some 1/4 mi runs with this accelerometer. Now I am really questioning the results. I did these runs yesterday (Sunday 11-15-09). I got one run about 10:30 MST. Approx 1300 ft elevation, 65 deg F, sunny and dry, on a freeway. ESP was turned on and full auto. Here is what it said...126 mph,12.19 sec,291 RWHP,347 EHP.

A little while later I was at a different location, CA instead of AZ. Approx 900 ft elevation, 66 deg, dry and sunny, rough surface road. ESP=off, manual-matic. Here is what it said...144mph, 11.69 sec, 325 RWHP, 474 EHP.

Now that seemed too damn good. I had a dyno a couple of months ago and they showed me it was at 320 RWHP so that seems to be OK but 474 HP???? Even the 12.19 in full auto seems too damn good. I like it but .

So I'm thinking I got some parameter wrong. I found, on the web, a figure of 3328 for a SRT6 Roadster added 170 lbs for me and calculated fuel at 6 lbs/gal for 15.9 gal tank which put me at 3546 to 3593 lbs. Does that sound right to any of you? What weight are you guys using with this accelerometer?

Please give me some feedback on the correct weight or if I should just keep that big ol' grin on my face.

That weight sounds close. I set mine for 3500.
Our srt is stock and my best 0-60 was 4.8 and 1/4 mile was about 13.1 if I remember right. And that was on worn out PS2 tires that spun like crazy.

 

I guess you all must believe these figurs but I don't. What kind of figures are you getting on this meter? I find it hard to believe I did an 11.69 when I see the numbers people put down at the track. Please let me know what you think.

I do not believe those figures to be accurate. No way in hell you could pull an 11.69 on street tires ON THE STREET! lol.

 

yeah you must have hit a bump in the road or something lol.

mine is pretty accurate but you have to be on a nice smooth road for it to work right.

 

I agree and that is why I'm looking for the cause. What weight are you using for a Roadster or does seem ok? So you believe a rough road would cause this? The unit didn't move around as I was looking at it but it was a little rough on that road, not like a highway or certainly a track.

 

i hit a bump when using the "dyno" feature on my gtech rr and it said i had 584whp/600wtq on that run lol.

i think i use 3400 for the weight (includes me+gas).

 

When I weighed mine down at MIR, with me in the car and around a half a tank a gas it was 3405. I was 165lbs back then and since then I gained about 15lbs. :P

 

Way to go fatty... hahaha, kidding.

Hell, I'm down 15lbs, maybe you found it... Now only a bazillion more pounds to go...

I "larded up" lol to 196lbs back in April and now I am back down to 158.9lbs working out 6 days a week and cut out about 95% of the fast food. Thanks for posting up the weight, I always wondered what it really was. My guess was pretty damn close at 3400!

 

I still don't understand. I guess I can see where hitting a bump could cause the car to jump and spin the tire a bit which would give a false readout. The problem is my first run was on a freeway in full automatic and I still got 12.19 which still seems too low from the times I've seen posted. The only other thing I can think is I've got the wrong weight. I showed how I calculated that weight previously but nobody has yet to give any details of the raodster weight they use with the K.A.T. Matrix acelerometer. Doesn't anyone use this on their roasters?

It's very accurate I actually used this At the track and found it was off by .1 slower than my 1/4 time at the strip

 

OK all, one last time for this question. What weight are you using for a roadster on this accelerometer? It's the only thing I can thing of that would scew the results. I am going to go to the dump today and see if they will give me the weight of my car plus me since nobody can give me a figure they use. I did see the 3400 but is that roadster or coupe? Sorry, I did not realize this would be such a hard question to answer.

 

Wasn't the roadster's weight like 80lbs heavier than the coupes? I thought I read that somewhere.
