The add also now states "Previous Repo". If it has a savlage title, it's worthless in the insurance world and the service contract will also be void.

You guys are giving the dealership way too much credit for car knowledge when they bought this car. The buyer for this very small independent dealer didn't know the mess he was getting into at all. He is just as screwed as whoever he sells this thing to - he has already paid for the silly thing. This thread has gone on for several months - the floor plan is up. Most independent dealers in Orlando are on a 45 day turn these days & this car has been there way longer. Most of these small "dirt lot dealers" don't know crap about our cars because they have been out of the price range they buy until recently. I promise you that they bought this thing well, but the dealer is SCREWED! If someone does buy it they don't have any recourse against the dealer if they find out the vehicle has been picked apart. The vehicle has a clean title and all the independents sell their cars "As-Is". Even the nicer independents that I work with don't know much about our car - I get calls at my office asking about options, opening the top, opening the hood, etc. The dealer should have considered buyer beware too on this one!

Looks like most things that come out of Chicago aren't what they seem. I wonder if that car is also a socialist.

Actually, I have given the dealership exactly the credit they deserve. If you look at the cars this dealer is selling and has sold; you will notice that this is a high end dealership that has Crossfire history. They may not have had 100% knowledge of what they were getting into but this was not there first Crossfire and stating that the car was a 1 of 200 Black Max Special Edition is not exactly keeping it clean. I agree the dealership is just as screwed as the next buyer, but that is the chance you take when you buy at low priced dealer auctions. It's also the buisness of how they make their profit and why they have such a low standing in the world of honor and integrity. In my opinion they should be the ones who get stuck with this lemon, or at least tell the truth and sell it for what they paid; which in my estimate is about what it's worth. Continuing to lie now that they have been informed of the truth is not buyer beware! Give them a call and then make a statement about their actions.

This car actually has documents to indicate citizenship, I think it may have been born overseas. It was definitly socialized here.

I'd buy the car for about 5,000 and part it out completely. Hell, I'd probably pay 5,000 just for the engine and trans. Completely worth it, but not 17,000 or anywhere near that.

When it comes back up for sale (and it seems that it always will) you buy it, keep the tranny and engine. I'll buy the rolling chassis off of you.
Deal?

Thanks for the "McFly", you reminded me of my father just now

This poor car, we should post a memorial to it's VIN number.

PS - Rudy, you have PM.

I wonder what it is really worth? whats a nice 24K mile SRT coupe worth minus the cost to restor back to a correct SRT? I talked to the dealer acting dumb and he said it was an ultra rare black max edition and compared it to a Yenko.

It just dawned on me.........can you imagine what they would say if mine hit the "dealer auction" circuit?

It wouldn't be on Ebay. It would be at Barrett Jackson as a one off prototype of a proposed new AMX that was going to compete with the new Mustang and Camero's like they did back in the day!
