Black Max Edition? HUH?
What do you guys think it's worth as-is? Could it bring $9000? What happened was one of my boss's friends bought it off eBay and drug it back from Texas, about 6 months later traded it in here.
If we put the parts back on, doesn't it still carry all that negative stigma to Crossfire SRT enthusiasts?

A redheaded stepchild if I have ever seen one. No one here would buy the car for over $7,000, if I was a betting man. You either unload it cheap or try to sell it to someone who does not know any better, but it would cost you a ton to make this non SRT an SRT through and through...
Kinda figured. The guy who told me what it was then had me pop the hood and take his picture next to it, telling me it's the most infamous Crossfire out there.
I also haven't encountered someone interested in it who doesn't know what an SRT6 should have. Pretty dedicated fan base obviously, the first questions are always about everything that's missing. I couldn't figure out what went on with this for the past month, now I know.

Bring it to the Dragon.. $5.00 photo opps..LOL.
So nobody on the forum wants an "N/A" sleeper? Think farm truck on that drag racing show!
Just a quick guess.. about $2,500 to put back to SRT6 status? So that would get you to $11,500 for a 50K infamous SRT.. Kinda like stepping up to the craps table huh..

A customer on the lot told me we're now in possession of the infamous "Black Max" ... true? 2005 Chrysler Crossfire - Used Coupe Cedar Rapids IA | 5 Seasons Motorsports Inc.
If so, how do we sell this thing??? What's the best way to get out of it?

This car has changed ownership about 7-8 times that we are aware of on this forum. It's probably the most documented sales history of an SRT6.
It is true that a forum member, Mutt, owned this car and he was aware of the impending repo by his bank. He traded/swapped the following parts with another forum owner of a base model Crossfire:
- The bucket seats and various other interior parts
- Front and back brakes, discs pads, etc.
- Front and back bumper covers
- Limited model wheels
- Spoiler swap from an SRT6 to a Limited
- Fog lamp swap

Don't want to confuse the guy.
Thanks for all the info, guys! I guess at the very least, if you see this pop up on eBay from us, you won't have to complain about me trying to make it sound like something it isn't, I'll be sharing all this information in the description.
Suspension?
One other heads up if you are selling this car....those spoilers do work above 80 mph... Without the down pressure, this car could potentially have handling problems. They are limited to 155mph from the factory if this car still has a stock tune. You better divulge this info to the buyer, before he goes out and kills himself. A lot of liability in the car.....good luck...
I would do what most have done with this car.....AUCTION....

What would be interesting is if someone has a spare autocheck, to run a report on. I bet it has been sold at auction at least a dozen times over the last 2 years. Every time it shows up, it is at a different dealer lot. Dealers hold it long enough to realize that there is no such thing as a Black Max edition and then take it back to the auction. This car has to of set a record for the most times a car has been through the auction circuit.
I would say with almost certainty, this car will still be making its rounds through the auction circuit 2 years from now, and every couple months, it will resurface in this forum. The damn thing just will not go away.

I wonder if Bob is doing ok, haven't heard from him in a long time.
I'll give you $3K for it as long as it runs and drives as it should. That way i can put my limited motor in it then sell it to pay for ECU mods to allow the SRT 6 speed combo in my roadster.
Sound like a deal?

3.5K...with above stipulations .. Fast & Furious style rear wing should work fine..
Hmm.. Add a Sqrlcrusher hood.. MAD MAX edition! Already got the leathers!

Frankly 5seasonsinc, I'm sure you picked it up for nothing at auction. Sell it just to recover your money, and don't look back. Cut your losses short. This thing is like a hot potato.
Honestly, we didn't. The boss's friend has literally been the owner since he brought it up from Texas off an eBay auction. I don't think he particularly cared about anything but the motor, all he did was blast around gravel roads in rural Iowa.
LOL.....well, that is all it is good for really. So, what does a good used 2005 6 cylinder pick up go for these does? Sorry, but as you know in the car business. A sucker comes along ever so often... I just hope he doesn't find this forum. As it will be brutal for whoever that person is. Good luck with your sale....FIRE SALE that is...had to do it....lol
