cracks in spoiler
I was just going to lunch a bit ago, and as I was walking up to my car I saw what I thought looked like a string on my rear spoiler. As I got up to the car, I realize that it is a crack. The crack is on both uprights, right where it meets the spoiler body. I will take some pics when I get home. Anyway, this car is not my daily driver, and is the first time I have drove it in over a week. I keep it in the garage. I washed it after the last time I drove it, so I would have noticed these cracks at that time if they were there. I am totally bewildered as to what could have caused this. They look like stress cracks. Has anyone ever had a problem with cracking on the SRT wing?

A couple months after her car was completed whereby the wing was replaced and repainted Blaze red, it again showed the exact same stress cracks. The dealer would not replace the wing a second time. So currently her wing is showing the same stress cracks at the base where the pillars and the wing are affixed.

Yep-- I had them too (see pics in my gallery). The dealer wanted nothing to do with fixing it since I bought the car used (as is) and hadn't brought it up at time of purchase. Luckily I have a friend who runs the body shop at another dealership-- I dropped off the spoiler and he fixed it and matched the paint for free. It looks like new and I have not seen a recurrence of the cracks. But of course I have been very gentle when closing the trunk-- and it has only been 3-4 months.
Good luck,

Well, I guess that since my car is no longer under warranty, I am SOL. Is there a recall, or tsb for this that would allow me to get this taken care of outside of warranty? I have only had the car for two months, and really baby her. This is just sooo disappointing, and makes me feel sick at my stomach. I want this car to stay pristine. Here are some pics.

a lot of stress on the spoiler at 160 BMorgan, need to slow down a bit......then again, it could just be a design flaw and not your excessive speeding....thanks, guys, now I am on my way out to the garage to look....

For anyone that has these cracks, do you think that the spoiler is still structurally sound? I would hate to be going down the road and have the spoiler come flying off.
I think you fine, AND I don't have any cracks...but did find some scratches that really burned me up...looks like someone rubbed on the car...oh, well bound happen I quess....
No clue, but I would definitely keep it in double digits while it is cracked. I'm thinking enough downforce (high speeds) could definitely cause problems to an already damaged spoiler. Like you said, it would be bad to have that thing come flying off at 150+. I'm pretty sure it would be a write off at that point.
So, to clarify... Any of the coupe owners experiencing this? Or is this simply due to the harsh (parallel) mounting angle on the roadster? Seems to me that the coupe's Spoiler is at a much better angle. Those cracks are crazy-big...
