Default Bothersome Traction Control

So i"m probably going to get hounded for posting this, but i'm goin to anyway. Got a nail in my stock continentals and just decided to go ahead and replace all four with the Michelin A/S Plus' which will be mounted tomorrow. Anyway, decided to have a little fun today since it didn't really matter what came of the rear tires so I did a little sliding around in a vacant parking lot just to experiment with the car's limitations, etc. Turned off the TC, padded the brarke, and blipped the throttle. I went into a spin but the traction control (which is turned off, mind you) kicks right on in and kills the gas.

Not that this is something I do regularly, but why does it still kick in like this?

Thanks! I'll let everyone know how i like the Michelins

I think it will still kick in if the spin is excessive. It hasn't hampered getting good burn-outs at the track though. I hate the way it kills your power so abruptly- I felt like a mule kicked me in the back the other day when it killed my power as I was accelerating- BAM power off! Though I'm not sure if it's supposed to work that way- maybe it's another issue. lol Either way I couldn't reproduce it with the TC turned of (ps...and YES the IC pump has already been preemptively replaced)

ITs the yaw control and it will do that in a lateral slide of some high angular rate. I added a DELETE switch so I dont have to deal wit that or the tc.

My LSD rear also helps a bit, Woody ENJOY

Woody at what point in a full on donut would it kick in? I can do a half donut and not have anything kick in. I'll need to find a bigger place to try a nice burnout donut. As cross<>hair said it's never been a problem with a burnout. This is with T/C off, with it on it won't get a foot sideways before shutting the power down.

Got the new tires today. Love them so far. There is no comparison between these and the Continentals. Great tires!
