If the site is degraded lets leave it for the new one

What would have happened if this sight were not around. We could be stuck going to a sight full of Ah***s that are more worried about beating up on people than helping them. Come on people you have to support the sight nothing in life is free and if it is you probably don't want it.
recorded experience with the IC Pump issue. There was nothing on this
forum relating to that, so I had to diagnose the problem with my Service
Center techs. We went through a couple of iterations before settling on
the IC Pump. I promptly posted this info to the forum, and hopefully
saved many others the tedium of working with unknowledgable techs in
the Service Center. But, there was no self diagnosis in this case, as I had
to rely on Chyrsler service to figure out the problem. Took a couple of
weeks and visits to get it figured out.
To the subject at hand... if folks want to abandon this site for the CICCI
forum, that's cool. All things change, but it will certainly leave the rest of
us without the benefit of the many good things the members of this forum
have contributed in the past and will contribute in the future.
I found this site shortly after buying my SRT-6 in Oct. '04, and found most
of the people knowledgable and gracious. As time went on, many of these
folks offered up many solutions for either correcting problems, performing
regular maintenance (without a Service Center) and many options for
increasing the performance of our cars. This forum has been invaluable
to me over the years and I hope I've added some small value in return.
I'm generally not a "joiner", as I don't really like being around other people
that much. Most folks I've met in my life have either wanted something
from me that I didn't want to give or have had a real penchant for telling
other people how to run their lives. But, at the few times I've ventured
out to meet up with other Crossfire owners, I've never felt these kind of
things were in evidence, for which I am truly thankful. A better bunch of
folks I've not found.
But, being that I'm not a "joiner", I seriously doubt that I'll ever join the
CICCI forum. Guess that will be my loss if the wonderful folks who've
moved over there do not come back here to share from time to time. I
think to join CICCI would put me back in the place where folks whom I've
come to like and enjoy the writting of are now wanting something from me
that I do not want to give. I'm happy to share any knowledge I get, but
for me, my money has better uses.
Please don't take that the wrong way. I'm not a skin-flint or stingy with
my money. In the last 10 years, I've given several 10's of thousands of
dollars to the Union Mission (a group which helped me out many years
ago). I believe in their work and want it to continue, and I don't have
anything else that I think they would have use of from me (well, other
than the donations in kind [washer/dryers, refigerators, TVs, etc.]). The
point is, I choose carefully where I send my money and want to make
sure it gets the best value. I just don't see that with picnics and get
togethers sponsored by a Car Club.
And, to the justification I heard, that this was a way to get Chrysler to
support our cars... Forget about it. After the 10 year rule has expired,
you can bet your sweet a** that they will no longer stock parts for our
cars. And nothing CICCI can say will change Chyrsler's mind (especially
if they don't make it to 2014 as a business, which seems quite possible.)
Hope I ain't pi**ed anyone off, but there it is.

By now it probably cost less to buy a manual 04' XF then to run a public forum...

how do you really feel?
BTW if it only cost $300 to set up and run a server, why doesn't everyone just do that?
Why don't we?
That's not even a respectable monthly bar tab.

I expressed my feelings last night and thought i did it with a touch of humor so everyone would take what i said with a grain of salt.
i am done with this thread, i made my point and other made theirs. i have no hard feelings towards anyone, it is just the internet after all. my point was simply that it gets old with all the constant spamming and it would be nice to take it down a notch. whether or not anyone wants to do that really will not be a life changing event for me either way lol.
again, lets just get back to having fun with our cars. oh, and stay drug free. drugs are bad, mmkay?

This site serves as a great introduction to new owners that may want to go to the next level and join CICCI.

I've been on this forum for a long time and it feels like a club to me. I don't need to pay anyone to feel at home on a car enthusiast forum. Information is still great, most of the long time members are still here, and I don't need any cheesy floor mats or sticker.
Real Crossfire enthusiast? hahaha, again,
That's like playground talk. "Hey kid, you're not a real cool kid unless you drink this Koolaid..." I'll stick to the good ol' Crossfireforum thankyou. Oh, and Dan's Crossfire eyebrows are pretty nice and look sweet!

I thought when I paid my membership dues back with the original car club it was for life... I guess not, because I've lost my status on my sig. It was only 10 dollars then and it was basically to promote this website. I'd join the new one but I would want to be considered a charter member since I basically was.

No offense to the cicci folks, but wtf would I want to pay for something that's already free?
All because we can't upload pictures anymore? Do I care? there's a whole ton of free photo hosting sites out there.

i would gladly donate to the site if it helped to get the "color" and "font" options deleted.
don't try to be creative or cute, just type.

Somehow grown men and women got away from the original and pure purpose of this forum. We own and love the same car. Isnt that enough to garner respect and dignified responses/posts from each other. I stopped posting over here because everyone started yelling at, screaming at and belittling each other and for what............cyber bragging rights.
Everyone has the right to say or post whatever they want but the personal assaults are ridiculous. I may not like what someone posts but I dont attack that person becasue of the post. WE, ALL CROSSFIRE OWNERS, have a unique opportunity to ban together and have a solidified voice regarding the future suppliers for our vehicle. Yet there's bickering about nothing.
HERE'S A THOUGHT: have one voice to combat dealerships that cheat us of great service while charging us outlandish fees, continue to put pressure on Chrysler to make sure WE have a parts supplier for the next ten years, meet up with fellow Crossfire owners, enjoy the company, have fun, and respect each other as if these posts were face-to-face conversations. There are so many talented people associated with and that own Crossfires. Imagine what we could accomplish if we stopped attcaking each other.

Hey guys, thought I would throw my 2 cents....
From a networking perspective there is a lot more to it then just buying a 300 a month webserver and hosting that way. I manage a large global network as the day job. Its not the speed of the server here that killing cf.org, its the bandwidth and connectivity to the backend db.
Now given the other side of me says that with all the vendors and sponsorship money here, that should have or should be addressed with that income.
CICCI is a nice site, however I don't even remember the last time I was on it, checked it, or even posted a sale to it even though we are a paid vendor.
This site has merit, its members, and a decent amount of information that would be unfortunate to lose.
