If this site is subject to problems and has no real full time support, Id like to suggest that we leave it with some provisions.

Questions:

Why do we need two sites.

Why not pull together to have one site that is all things to all people, Not the cigar forum though. Virginia now has Banned smoking in all food providers stores, yippie.

Can we pack up and ship over all the gallaries and posts to make one site with our collective history intact?? THats a biggy.

How long would that take.

All contributors would join to become full members and strenghten our group as a single entity.

Drawbacks:

Well I wanted to list this option even though I really dont see anything to it.

Less to monitor, one site for all related data, information, and images.


Iam getting all tingley thinking of the conservation of effort and benefits to all. This is possibly a way to improve and strengthen our community.

I guess the future is pay to belong. I liked it better before. If I lived closer I'd have joined the new site at the beginning, but I don't live in the lower 48 and won't be anytime in the future that I know of. Oh well, it's progress for some.

Well the gallery issues pointed out that the site is not fully covered and subject to this failure and others in the future.

If this it the reason to think about this then so be it.

If the other site is better maintained and the moderators have to watch two sites why not one. ?

I have never figured out how to use the galleries since ive been here Its the only forums i know where people dont just post pics in their threads or their personal profile info. I dont want to read about something and then have to open a new window to search the galleries. Probably im just retarted.

Is this yet another thread/post for CICCI? This site is basically a commercial for CICCI anymore, honestly it is getting really old. It is almost like half the members have turned into Dan except instead of hocking headlight eyebrows and code3 pulleys they are hocking CICCI memberships.

For example:

MEMBER POSTS: "hey, my intercooler pump quit working what should I do?"

CICCI CULT MEMBER REPLIES: "Well, I would look into joining CICCI and get some of our exclusive members only floor mats!"

or

MEMBER POSTS: "Check out my new photos of my car everyone!"

CICCI CULT MEMBER REPLIES: "Wow those are great, in fact they look so good you should join CICCI and have access to our exclusive CICCI licensed shoe shine kit and mustache wax!"

or

MEMBER POSTS: "What do you suggest I do for my first mod, I just bought a srt6!"

CICCI CULT MEMBER REPLIES: "Well I would suggest you join CICCI and get this handy dandy logo under your user name, plaster an even larger one in your sig photo and then you can start official CICCI threads like "Look who joined CICCI today! or maybe the ever popular "We just added a self promoting spam to wikipedia about CICCI and started a thread about how everyone should go look at it thread!"

I swear it is turning into the new SCIENTOLOGY cult lol. Give it a break already guys, I would be willing to bet you are turning a lot of people off by constantly bombarding them with this crap. This forum is turning into 95% CICCI advertisements and 5% actual car chat threads.

Maybe it is just me but every other car enthusiast forum on the net is free, why should people be forced to PAY for a forum to chat about their cars? If that happens I would be willing to bet someone will start up one for free.


As for photo hosting, i use FREE PHOTOBUCKET which is an easy place to host them, free and allows me to use my photos on all sites not just this one. It saves me from having to upload them multiple times on multiple sites which is silly.

Both sites serve a purpose. The CICCI site is a website for a club, thus dues are required to be participate in it. I have found that those that are really Crossfire enthusiast, they want to be a member of the club.

Dot org is a free website that's open for anyone to post on. I am glad this site exist because I would have never found so much good information on our beloved cars and made such good friends.

This site serves as a great introduction to new owners that may want to go to the next level and join CICCI.

I've never been to this "other" site.................but I do know(from others' posts) that you have to PAY to join that site. I will NEVER pay to BS with people about my car on the internet.

That does not sound fair, I may see you saying that if this was the cicci forum but I thought we could speak our minds here? Or does that only apply when it does not affect your BUSINESS of CICCI?

I think I made my point in this thread but I do not see why I can not make comments going forward in other threads when I see what I consider abuse of this FREE site by cicci members constantly spamming it up. Or do you have issues with that?

 

Iam not a clubber, but do pay the subscription of all of my monthly magazines. It pays to play together.

If this site is crippled then it should die as it appears that we have no real site support. Sort of like AIG, BAC, and such.

Seriously, give Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket a try. You will love it, you can even edit your pics and organize them. the best part is you do not have to upload your pics on every site you join, simply paste the links which photobucket has under each photo on your account page. you can host tons of free photos there.

as for paying to play together, i do not have to pay on any other site i am on. i own a forum, have owned it for years and i do not charge my members. in fact, i pay for prizes, decals, events and so on out of my own pocket and i am glad to do so. i also have some thoughtful members that donate $ for events as well and it has worked out fantastic.

Opinions are one thing, bashing is another. We do not allow anyone to be bashed on this forum, regardless of topic. Feel free to give your opinion on why you won't join a club, but don't bash anyone, or any organization. Crossfire international was a membership offered in this forum from it's inception. Way before you joined.
