Default oil change/resetting issue?

about a month ago my car stated 200 miles, then 100 miles, then 0 miles then -100 miles then -200 miles then -300 miles and so forth.

(the odometers not going backwards, but my car was giving warnings?)

and i went and had an oil change yesterday (-600 miles) at 112$ GAH! new oil new filter.

my question is shouldn't the warnings have gone away? its now -700 miles (i havent even driven 100 miles since -600). how do you reset it? if its not oil, what else is it complaining about?

thanks guys.

also, i told them 0w-40 and they were all like "yeah b/c its benz motor" and sounded like they knew what they were doing; but on my receipt it said 0w-20 (i think thats for honda? not sure) i dont even know if the guy just messed up on the receipt or what not. geez. everything is so complicated.

This is the fss reset procedure,
The button to push is lower left of speedo.
Good luck.

1. Turn key to the ON/RUN position.
2. Within one second press the ****/button twice.
3. The present status for days or distance is displayed.
Within 10 seconds turn the key to OFF/
LOCK.
4. Press and hold the ****/button, while turning
the key to ON/RUN again. The present status for
days or distance is displayed once more. Continue
to hold the ****/button.
After approximately 10 seconds, a signal sounds and
the display shows 7,000 miles (Canada: 11,000 km) for
approximately 10 seconds.
5. Release the ****/button.

When you do the above make sure that you turn past the accessory position to the on position (but not all the way to start). In the accessory position you will see the display and this may make you think that you turned the key far enough - the "dummy" lights need to come on to be in the on positon. Also the above is very sensitive to following the time limits.

0-20?! Might as well run extra light virgin olive oil in it. Lol. And I thought 0-40 was thin!!

You should also make sure that they put Mobil 1 0-40wl (or 5-40w) oil in the car. I doubt that they put racing grade oil in it. If it is just standard 0-20w I would be getting it out pretty soon.

Given the problems the forum is having on hosting pics thought people wanting to add pics to posts would be interested in this thread which covers off how to get photos up at the moment
