Only bummed with the delay but not surprised by it. I'm here till it's done. Just makes it that much sweeter when it finally arrives.

 

Well, looks like the shop will be in the warm weather era when we do the installs. Summer is better guys, we can drink beer while we wait. It's even too cold here to drink beer....-14 this morning. Damn Beaner keeps sending his cold air down here. Anyway, my mechanic is up for the test asa we get them. So July may be doable....lol....

I'm hoping the "wrecked 32" is one you purchased for spare parts, and not that sweet
looking SLK32 I saw at the dyno tune day. That would really suck to hear you crashed
your 32.

sorry bro but my 32 is dead! totalled out last fri and now getting my mods off to go on another 32. hopefully this one will be out of my garage by the end of march

looking right now. found 2 great possibilities but im in no rush. took me 6 months to find the last 1!

 

This wavetrac had better be as great as we all expect of it!

-I was out in my car yesterday...
-Driving it around...
-Stoped in a few local friends house who has not seen it since the SC V8 was installed...
-I turned the traction control off and guess what happened...

Nope no carnage, no damage, rear end and everything still works...

Apparently the transmission controle modual can be altered so that it will put the car into neutral if a pre determined amount of force is applied to the transmission. Sort of like a safety feature so nothing gets broken... another feature from mercedes to protect its self... When the V8 was installed this number was lowered a little just so I would not destroy the rear end or whatever else. My car went into neutral and there was nothing I was able to do. park, reverse, N, or drive didnt matter. Car was not moving.

All I had to do is turn off the car and start it back up and everything worked as normal again. So I called Rudy and told him what happened and he will put the magic number back up only once the wavetrac is installed...

So this means untill this wavetrac is made and installed I will be responsible and protected. Sort of

Now I am really waiting...

 

I haven't heard anything from Devin or Unitrax. A touch disappointing, to me at least. This kind of delay warrants some official communication. They get a negative 1 from me. I'll call them myself this week and relay my thoughts on the matter. As far as this rumor about not being able to get quality steel ....... like I buy that argument. Perhaps they can't at the price they want. The last I checked our steel factories were far from full utilization. (stock research)
I believe in the Wavetrac. But it seems most group buys end up in a tar pit.

the parts they need to make, is made from a special metal that metal they buy from a vender that is ::: the company that they buy from! when the economy was good they had over 100 workers and they were open 24 hours a day producing great metals for lots of people ,, now they are open 3 to 4 days a week and only fire the furnace once in a while ( cost to fire up the furnace is high)) so they are waiting until they have enough orders to warrent firing up the furnace, it may be another month before the company gets all the orders it needs,,, it is the only company left in the us that can make the metal strong enough to make aircraft parts and differential parts so we have no choice but wait, when they took our deposit ,they were promised to get the metal they needed,,, the new fordmustang ( don;t know which one) and a few others have a year or more waiting period, I am no doctor which means i have no patients,, but i will wait for this. updated 2/11/2011 jim
