I had some spray on stuff I had used before, but I don't think it was super effective, so I went and bought some actual grease that I had to brush on. It said apply liberally, and since it was a grease I could put it on thicker than the spray.
Anyway, took it out and no squeak at all. As long as the stuff sticks and doesn't wear off, I'm happy.
