F*** this car and chrysler
I am really really starting to hate this car and chrysler as a couple. For all the problems I have had with this car. First off the chrysler dealer lied about the car being in a accident. Second I have wind noies from both windows and some how chrysler can't fix it but only make it louder. Then a tranny leak that never got fixed until I fixed it 3 days ago. 2 sagging head liners chipped or scratched paint everytime after it went to the dealers but of course it came in like that. Blown alternator, blown bcm, blown air pump blow radio. Towed numours times because the damn thing wouldn't run. Bent rim thanks to KOST TIRES. High beams stopped working. Wont pass inspection because of the damn moduels. Now today for a great ending the car catchs on fire because the battery shorts out on the hood. Now nothing works and the windows are down and its starting to rain. Im sure I forgot a couple other things about this major POS car but im to pissed off to remember them. Im sorry guys I really loved this car but I really think im done after this. I have owend both the NA and the SRT but now if the car cant be fixed will be moving on to something different. I will keep you guys posted with what happens to my car or if I end up getting something different. Sorry for any spelling errors.
Sounds like you were duped into buying a car in an accident. And I'll bet thats the root of all your problems ..... and Chrysler service is a felony. They've put a dent into every car I've taken to them which is why they haven't seen the Crossfire yet.

WoW, it appears dealer pissed you off because the things they do and you **** on the car itself. If you dont take care of it, every car will give you problems. You need to know how to take care of them and when to take care of them, for them to treat you good.
I have been happy with my car. Small problems will happen here and there.
I think you are lucky to have that kind of car at that age.
Goodluck with whatever you do but I think it is best if you dont drive around in a POS car and get a civic or something since they are super reliable.

Muscle not to start any fights or anything but I take car of that car like its my child. Im attending the automotive program at alfred state college and currently have a 3.93 gpa. So I understand what I need to do and when to do it. I also have the instrusters by my side in a sistuation that I cannot fix myself. In some situations where a warrenty item is in need I have to bring it to the dealer, and in every situiton I bring it to the dealer they always seem to mess something up with my car. Now im not saying that every crossfire is a pos just the one that I have been given. That is also the only reason that I have a second crossfire is because of the way that I treated my past cars. My sister who treats cars like **** and never does any preventive maintence on them has only had one car because my parents dont like to waste money. Now yes im blessed to have parents like mine who are willing to spend a lage amount on a car that I really like but after these problems I think im intitled to call my crossfire not crossfire in general a POS. Also I would never drive a civic or something in that sort because of how reliable they are.
Congrats on the G.P.A, that's what really counts. Someday the Crossfire will be a funny story you tell while driving around in your Bentley. Buy a rice burner, go to graduate school, and enjoy your youth. You got a lemon so blow the f%%king thing up and have a lemon cooler to celebrate.
Sounds to me like a bad "dealer"
Mine was in the dealer's shop for 8 weeks . Haven't seen a scratch or dent from it. The car runs great now.
Wasn't the dealers fault that I drove it like I stole it.
These are great cars but are not infalible. Especially to abuse and bad service. They can be broken.
It sounds like somebody broke or abused yours.
Buy, a used Mazda R8, Tiberon or an Eclipse and see if it holds up as well.
Then, you could rag the car and everyone here would agree with you.
And then, we'll all help you find another SRT.

Agree with most others here. You're damn lucky to have a car like a crossfire (in your case 2 of them) at your age. If seems you're damn unlucky with the car and the dealer -- and that sucks.
I had a Chrysler Conquest (made by Mitsubishi of course) and it had a bullseye on it. Not problems mechanically, just problems with people always trying to break in, steal the wheels, key the paint, etc. Despite that, I kept the car for 14 years because I absolutely loved the damn thing. Still miss it too. You may need to either work through it........ or start over -- but being pissed at the car won't do any good.
Good luck. Many of us have felt similar pain in the past. Better you know than me though.................I've been through it before and don't want to have to again.

btw, i've had zero problems with chrysler or my 5 star dealer.
I know my spelling is bad always has been. I would be fine with this car if all the problems were mechanical, but all of the major problems are electrical. If this car ends up being dead im looking into a military h1 that I can redo in 2 years when I take auto body. I have always loved those trucks.
The combination of CarFax and AutoCheck are your friend. Although I would not rely on either one on their own, the combination of the 2 will generally uncover most all accidents with vehicles. Since you said you purchased it from a dealer, you can bet that it was probably bought at auction. AutoCheck would have probably saved you some nightmares in this situation. Good luck with your next purchase, and sorry you had such a negative experience with this one.
You may want to consider doing a CarFax and Autocheck and see if you have a case to go back against the dealer that sold it to you. If they picked the car up at auction as a previously damaged vehicle and did not disclose that to you, you may have a leg to stand on.

Similar story here so I feel your pain. Those Chrysler dealers are the worst. Everytime I brought may car in to fix something I would have to bring it back 3 times just to get my car back in the same condition. They were constantly breaking something! Take 1 step forward and 3 steps back. I could go one for hours explaining each experience but don't feel like writing a book.
This is why I now do my own oil changes and will do my own repairs (even though it is still under warranty). Just don't want these idiots touching my car. Nobody will drive that car but me! Just hang in there.
Also know that just because it was in an accident doesn't mean that it is a bad car. I had a fender bender 3 years ago and my car is fine. I was rear ended pretty hard.

well sometimes when we see something we want, we jump too soon to buy it. In Indiana, if you buy a car and it isn't disclosed to you that it has been in an accident, you can sue the dealer. There is a form that is signed by you and the dealer when purchasing stating just that. If this is the case in your state I would sue their asses off. Every car can be a pain, yours is definitely a bad one. If you aren't upside down with it, money wise, I would get rid of it. There are plenty of good ones out there, usually better to buy from an individual when dealing with sports cars...or know the rep of the dealer....I don't deal with any dealers I don't get to know. I spent a lot of time on the phone, and had a friend personally check out the coupe before I committed to buying it...got to do your homework young man, including cars...now, trade that pos off, and get something else....good luck
Honestly I'm starting to feel cassidy... My cruise control randomly stopped working, no codes. Bulbs randomly go out, rear rotors were warped from day 1, rear e-brake drags, even with both adjusters all the way out, headliner is starting to sag (not the fabric but the whole headliner) I can't get half the rear trim panels to fit right (especially the one that covers the trunk latch) My remote will go through 1 pair of batteries a day, I can't go to any local dealer and get parts (without a never ending wait) Valve cover gaskets still leak after the fix, headlights still fog up (and the foglights now) and the dealer refuses to do anything about it, even the TSB on it.
bla bla bla, I'm sure there's more

Cass and Infinite,
I would dump both of your alls cars. Sounds like you both purchased vehicles that were either wrecked or abused or both. A lot of guys on this forum haven't had any problems, aside from an IC pump and have 40K, 50K, 60K on their cars. Polish them up and trade them.
Sorry to hear about the issues!!! Good luck going forward.

Damn! Lol, your *** got raped by some of the seasoned forum members. It happens. Im sure you got a killer deal on the car when you bought it. Sometmes things really are too good to be true. It sucks that it happened to you, but if it makes you feel any better it happens very often with younger buyers including myself at the same age. You live and you learn buddy. Make sure you never trust stealerships!!!! And if you find a good one, stick with it.
Well now, I dislike Chrysler service and with good reason but at the same time I like their cars. I have a 99 Intrepid, 300C and Crossfire SRT-6. All the problems with the Intrepid were air conditioner related and hazy headlights. The issues with the 300C, left pull, transmission leak (fixed free TSB's) and shifter lockout (pink thingy broke, fixed by owner) The Crossfire; transmission leak. I have some concern about parts availability and huge concerns about Chrysler service but my Crossfire has been a revelation. (In a good way)

instead of encouraging you to dump your car i will challenge you to keep it and fix all the issues.
you are going to trade school to be a mechanic correct? you are going to see cars like this constantly. to become frustrated and chunk the whole thing wont be an option when someone is paying you to fix the problems.
step back from the car and grab your pen and paper. write down everything thats wrong and separate them into sections were they seem related. start with 1 issue and fix each problem. if you get mad walk away. take a break.
once you conquer all the problems you will have a car that performs and you will be a leader on here and elsewere like rcompart, woody, miker, and brianbrave just to name a few.
your trade school teachers and classmates can be your best assets. you have acces to equipment and people with knowledge. make a project out of the car and enjoy the trade you are seeking. you have a lifetime of wrenching in front of you. look at msready's thread. 9000$ to fix his electrical problems and those guys didnt have a clue! he could have easily abandoned the car but stuck it out and now he has a rare srt-6 vert that makes him smile every time he gets in it!

projects are fine if you aren't upside down $$$$ wise. If you can afford to take the car on fine...but most in your situation, are strapped for cash, and it's your daily driver...not much fun with your dailer driver down all the time...no,,, you don't need a project, you need a good car to get you around...projects are for old farts like me....get yourself a dependable car. I wouldn't recommend a crossfire to anyone below 30......
