F*** this car and chrysler
Like I tell my kids, buy with your head and not your heart. Most of the owners here have some age, experience and money to address problems encountered with hobby rides. All two seaters are for fun and if your not having fun it's time to let it go.

Blackcrossfire07 brought back a bad memory from many years ago. I bought a new car back in 1983 that I took into the dealer for an oil leak. When I picked it up the air conditioner wasn't working. I left it again and when I came back to pick it up I found the headliner was badly marked up from greasy hands. When I came back to pick it up again I found the rear window defroster line was damaged when they took the molding out to replace the headliner. After all that the oil leak was not fixed.

I got a kick out of his statement that his college is teaching him how to take care of his car. You know some of us have enough "Credits" from building cars to be Doctors. Hmm?
So that would be, Dr.Oledoc2u, Dr.Woody, Dr.Montana etc.

now that is too funny....I know, or have forgotten more about small block chevys than I will ever know about the electronics on this car. I am learning though.....he has to make the decision, but being unhappy with something, especially your car, isn't good for him or the car. I tackle the problems as a learning experience, not a problem...but, I don't have to worry about it, since it isn't my daily driver...if you have the money to take on all those problems, and the support of a tech school, and access to the tools, then go for it...as it will be the best learning experience you can get...like you said, 2 seater sports cars are for fun, not to be headaches...and lets face it...there are some lemons in the batch...pick your challenges...if you can handle it, go for it, if it peeves you to no end, get rid of it for a better option...just the way it is...but, it doesn't hurt to vent either...lol
Not a day goes by these days that I don't wish my Roadster was a stick. But is that buyer's remorse? No, not really.
I remember why I bought my particular car:
1) LOW miles (13,351 at the time)
2) ONE owner (who obviously took care of this car to the point that driving it in the rain was out of the question)
3) Documented service record (a Carfacts report which, of course, was not a very long document, but it did show the oil change at 7600 miles and the replacement radio at 3300 miles)
4) 100% Georgia titled and owned car (no road salt)
5) four year old car with showroom finish - from sitting in a garage for four years
I've now got ALMOST 30,000 miles on it. The ONLY problem I've seen so far is the stupid electric trunk lock failure. I fixed it myself, because my dealer is 1 1/2 hours away AND because, well, I forgot I had a warranty on it! (Yea, really!)
I bought my car because I did my homework, researched the car to see if they were telling me the truth, and after all of that, I got it in writing that I could return the car for a full refund anytime in the first 30 days (they offered this when I got cold feet, not sure it it's ALWAYS the case there or not).
I am now still considering a 6 speed coupe to go with it... and you can bet I'll move so slow as to look like I"m not even going to buy!
I've always taken my sweet time with used car purchases... always will. I don't want to (as my mother used to say) "buy someone else's problems".

I would love to make this car into my project car but it is my daily driver and I cant have it sitting and me dishing money out to keep fixing this car. I also knew when I was getting this car it wasn't cheap to maintain or parts were cheap. Im not like every other 19 year old who goes out and gets the cookie cutter car that will cost 19 dollars for a oil change. I like to be different thats why I got the crossfire. Right now im looking into a h1 again not a cheap car to fix but its something unique.

Sorry to hear about the issues!!! Good luck going forward.

Cassidy,
I don't think your car is a lemon. All your problems seem to stem from;
a) the car was in an accident and the selling dealer did not inform you or properly fix things
b) the dealer you are working with is TOTALLY BAD! Whatever they touch turns to cr@p
You can't blame a car or call it a lemon if someone else compromised it.
One of the most reliable cars I ever owned was a little Chevy Cavalier. The thing ran like a clock until I tried adding coolant at 33,000 miles. The cap was stuck and I could not open it. It took a very burly mechanich with a big wrench to finally open it. When I got it back, the coolant level was all the way to the top of the container, about 2 inches above the "do not fill above this line" mark on the bottle. I asked about this and was told it will go down after I drive it for a week. Two days later I had a blown head gasket, The dealer "fixed" that and within 4 weeks I had another blown head gasket. In the space of two months this "dealer" caused the replacement of the engine, transmission, and complete exhaust system. Each time they "fixed" something, they broke something else.
When I had enough, I got in touch with GM and insisted on another dealer to work on the car. They got in touch with one of their top local dealers who called me and made an appointment to bring it in. They had the car for 3 days and replaced the entire power train. I insisted on a new zero deductible 3 yr warranty from GM. At first they were reluctant to offer it, and said that everything was fixed properly (the warranty was set to expire at 36,000 miles) and everything would carry a 12 month warranty. I reasoned, if everything was fixed, then the only thing the warrnty would cost GM was the time and effort to issue it.
That warranty was never used and I finally sold the car to a friend at a little over 100,000 miles. Years later the little car still runs perfectly.
Everyone told me that my car was a lemon, I didn't think so and I was proved right. I am not saying there are no "new" cars that qualify for lemon status, but more often than not, I feel it is the dealer who actually creates the majority of them.

Second I have wind noies from both windows and some how chrysler can't fix it but only make it louder. Then a tranny leak that never got fixed until I fixed it 3 days ago. 2 sagging head liners chipped or scratched paint everytime after it went to the dealers but of course it came in like that. Blown alternator, blown bcm, blown air pump blow radio. Towed numours times because the damn thing wouldn't run. Bent rim thanks to KOST TIRES. High beams stopped working. Wont pass inspection because of the damn moduels. Now today for a great ending the car catchs on fire because the battery shorts out on the hood. Now nothing works and the windows are down and its starting to rain. Im sure I forgot a couple other things about this major POS car but im to pissed off to remember them. Im sorry guys I really loved this car but I really think im done after this. I have owend both the NA and the SRT but now if the car cant be fixed will be moving on to something different. I will keep you guys posted with what happens to my car or if I end up getting something different. Sorry for any spelling errors.

In some peoples eyes that makes you a bad spelling dummy and you are not. So wake up.
End of sermon.
Get rid of the car.

I'll give you credit, at least you're thinking of a different car. But in all seriousness, cut your losses and move on....just please not to this^
Sorry to hear about all of your problems. If you have been around as long as I have, sooner or later you will get a lemon. It seems like you had a streak of bad luck. My advice is fix it up and sell it. Just make sure you get it in good working order before you do so and move on.

And you think the xf has problems wait till the h1 needs parts or service.
that $1200 will be a drop in the bucket.
PS do not blame all of Chrysler for poor repair and a bad dealer.
I have had great dealer experiences & service.

My car is getting towed tonight to the semi local dealer not the one I have been taking it to. We shall find out sometime this week the fate of my car.
Instead of spending the money to fix a rare car you currently drive, you're wanting to spring for a $100,000 [msrp] truck the instant a few individual trucks drop into the teens...
Question: why do you think these few are in the teens? And what part of being in the teens makes you think the maintenance would be less than when it was still worth $60K just a couple years ago?
From another perspective, would you buy a $12,000 Viper, when GOOD samples still bring $30K?
If you can't afford to fix your SRT, you can't afford to drive a real Hummer.
