Tom2112, just noticed your "stock up on Pulley Saver Kits" comment.
the whole point of a reduced diameter S/C pulley is there is no need for a PSK. The PSK is intended for larger crank pulleys...

Thanks Montana. A secondary advantage to the pulley saver kit is that it provides a better wrap angle on the supercharger pulley, which would be beneficial if you shrink the size of the SC pulley. So I can see people without modded crank pulleys buying a PSK.

yeah, what Tom said. With the relocation of the idler and replacement of better pulleys, the PSK is a must have for ANY pulley mod. You just have to tell Rob it is for the C3 (65mm) or C63 (63mm) lol.

I see this "Bump" quite regularly but have never known what it means?
Would someone please explain the term "Bump" when used here in the forum.
Thanks,
Mike

More like keeping the thread on the radar. Without postings, threads
eventually move off the front page.

All these months later and my interest has focused on this thread. Is there any update? I've got a Stock SC Pulley with a loose friction plate and springs. Like others I am - out of necessity - combing the MB and SRT forums to find a replacement - stock or otherwise. Sadly there don't seem to be the numbers required to create a solution.

If there is another solution, or this thread can be re-kindled - in light of EC's recent poll on SC Pulley's - then I'd love to hear it!

Hey guys,

sorry for the long over due reply! I have been swamped with work and school and the non single life lately.
School is done and work is all that I have to keep me away from my project now.

Update:

I have decided that I cant be without my car while they look at my pulley setup etc. So i have purchased a spare OEM pulley for my C32. I am going to give them the pulley and let them look at it and play with it. I thought about having them machine it down for me, of course after extensive research I have found that there is a "groove" that limits the amount of machining, essentially keeping the diameter no less than 65mm. So I figured I would give them the spare and let them make a model of it and see what we can come up with.

I have hit a wall on one of the mercedes forums, apparently I cant get authorization from the administrators to post this thread as it is a " conflict of interest with other providers" still waiting to see that other S/C pulley provider, guess I may have missed their ad. So the main snag other than the time issue I have resolved is the amount of interested people.

I know price plays a huge factor in this too. Once i have given them the stock pulley I should be able to sit down with them and hammer out a price and relay it to you guys and see how the feedback is on it.

Again, terribly sorry for the long overdue reply!!

Thanks,
Andrew

Just me Sorry.

What if the pulley were to abandon the clutch and make a solid pulley so that it were stronger and SMALLER.
.
Just thinkning out of the box . . . . . .again, Woody

WOuld have to be easier to fab............

You could route a diverter valve like a turbo Audi between the Y-pipe and after the throttle plate. Then you could use the clutch signal to open the valve to mimic the clutch.

C32/SRT6 Supercharger Pulley

We have been testing ours for quite some time now. When machining be very careful as we have seen some of the unit start to warp/bend after machining and heavy car use.

It makes a lot of sense to us for you to not be able to post on mbworld personally. We pay hundreds of dollars a month for that privilege, and they have been very good about making sure "to get theirs" for anyone trying to sell anything even if it is just to benifit the greater good.

We will also be bundling our pulley with tuning sales, and should start taking pre-orders very soon.

oh and woody, good idea, but the ecu freaks out. We had to do a lot of coding for our turbo cars to fool the ecu to think the clutch is still there. Otherwise it won't run right..

Jake,

I stand corrected and I apologize.

Thanks for posting the link. I have been looking for some time and this is the first time I had heard that you guys were doing this. I have seen a poll as to how much people would be willing to pay and that was pretty much all I have seen, could have very easily over looked the thread as well.

I understand that you guys pay hundreds to dollars to advertise, I was just never given a reason other than conflict of interest. When I asked which company so that I could at least know where to go if I wanted to order a pulley I was never answered on several occasions. I am by no means trying to step on anyone's toes in this process. Especially since I will be sending my ECU to you guys for a tune.

I saw that Code 3 was no longer doing this and figured I would at least see if there was a market for it and see if my friend's company was able to make it.

Andrew

Iam suggesting that the S/C pulley be solid for the S/C, run it all the time and reduce the cost and complexity of the pulley unit. It does not clutch in except at about 1300 rpm, just leave it spinning and avoid the problem. Not for turbo systems, just as an upgrade that does not cost near as much. What does the clutch buy us anyway. Woody

what would the ecu do when the iat's get to high? no way to disengage the s/c. thats what i thought the main purpose of the clutch was for
