OK, I just discovered this thread.

What is actually sent to Speedriven? How hard is it to remove/reinstall? Is this something folks are doing themselves or taking to a shop?

Received my "Rudy Tuned" spare TCM from Speedriven yesterday and installed it last night. Too cold and flurries falling so I'll have to wait to test it out.

Hi, I'm looking for feedback from either a regular Autocross or Track competitor. Does this TCU mod actually hold gear if I enter a turn at 5500RPM, will I be in the same gear after braking and going back to the throttle? I understand that it will up shift to protect the car when 6000RPM is reached. Will it stay in gear if I cook the turn and drift to slow or push through the turn? Not looking for superfluous it's supposed to, or stated to opinions. Has it truly held gear during real life track use? Thanks

In "S" mode, when using the paddles or autostick, it holds the gear right up to redline.

Sparkie - Have you proved this information in a track environment or are you just passing along the sales promotion? I have tested other TCU tunes that did not perform as promoted. What I am looking for is some track proven feedback. Thanks

My car is not tracked but the tranny does not shift until redline unless I make it shift.....exactly as promoted by SPEEDRIVEN. If you need clarification then you should call Rudy.

Sparkie. Have you ever purchased anything that did not perform as promoted? I have! I am looking to avoid repeating this, by questioning other Crossfire Track drivers if this product performs as promoted in a track environment. Multiple repeated gear holds! Where a failure to hold gear results in loss of traction, potential spin or crash. Anyone with Track expirience that does not want to post here, please PM with your track facts. Thanks

I don't have a TCU tune or I'd speak up about it. But, what your asking the stock programming already does. I enter corners, or a set of corners at 5500 or more all the time and the car holds the gear. In S mode it won't shift until redline stock so I think your good to go. What I'd like is to be able to upshift before redline in certain situations even though I'm in manual or S mode and not yet at redline. After I iron out a few more pressing problems I'll be digging deeper into the TCU tunes myself.

I guess I'm oversimplifying it.
For me, if an electronic controller is programmed to switch at an exact pre-progarmmed point then.......that's where it switches unless it receives input from another source to override the pre-programmed switching point.
Speedriven/Rudy do not put out products that are unproven.

My SRT-6 automatic does not. If I am at 5000RPM in second and lift to brake and set the car for entry, the car may up shifts to third or it may hold second. It's not consistan. All three SRT-6's that I have autocrossed and track driven act the same. It's not a problem during most track events as the transitions are normally smother maintaining speed and braking/shifting occur primarily before the turn. During autocross events with abrupt turns and speed changes, it's happens often.

I'm thinking autocross results in more possibilities for this to happen to you. It could have something to do with the ECU adaptive learning. The harder I drive the more my car holds a gear. Or the fact that I usually maintain some throttle in the corners. I'm giving my car some gas before the apex. I always downshift manually and let the car upshift. Or maybe I've adapted my driving and know the tracks to the point that I don't let it happen. Whichever scenario doesn't help you much.

I will be getting this set up soon, although I don't do the round track thing that often...I will be going straight thru 4 gears... Talking with Rudy, I believe Sparkie is right on, but I know you want to hear it from someone punishing that setup....so, we shall see soon....

I am really interested in this. Could we get some recent feedback and/or opinions from those that have this mod installed? I posted some questions about trans mods in a seperate thread.
