Not since we went to autozone and got that non Bosch cps and put it in... They didn't have Bosch... Also the
Check engine light didn't come on till a day after the problem started but that also turned off to once we replaced the sensor

There were are no dealers where you are? Did Autozone tell you the codes?! It could literally be any number of things... the Code will narrow our assumptions. Could also be a MAF sensor... these are also a known problem and can cause nearly the same symptoms as you described. Once again stick with a O.E.M. or Bosch part or you'll be replacing them frequently.

You mentioned your dad was with you. Next time it doesn't want to start, on the passenger side front of engine is the fuel rail with a Schrader valve - has a little cap on it. Take the cap off and it's like a tire valve stem. Find a small screw driver or something that will let him press it in (like letting air out of tire). Position tool and COVER WITH RAG. Fuel will spurt out when you turn the key on if there is no fuel issue, so basically plan on turning key on then off within a second or two at the most. Not the best way to test, but done with caution at the valve end of business it will be fine.

I agree, I think at this point we should be trying to get her in touch with someone close to where she is who is knowledgeable and can actually go and help troubleshoot/fix the problem.

Yes they did ... Finally when the check engine light did go on it said it was that crank sensor thing and that was the only code to pop up. Put the non Bosch part in and the engine light came off but the problem progressively gotten worse now today instead of every three times and the car finally starting... It's been every 5 times here and there... Will still start after three but every few times not until 5 now

This is why I travel with a Bosch CPS in the trunk. I've never used it in 40,000 miles, but my day is coming !

We have heard it here before, put a CPS in and it still acts up, so people spend a lot of $ only to find, days later, that a Bosch CPS fixes it.

Again, I could be wrong and Miata's idea about testing to see of fuel pressure is there is a good idea. I wish I was there to look at it!

Tighd1 would be a good guy to have look at it. He's down south past Chandler somewhere.

Everyone claims only Bosch. Well I'll agree it is the "ideal" replacement, but I'm telling you the one from Advanced Auto has worked flawless for a year now WITH a lifetime warranty that you won't get with a Bosch.
ANYONE had a bad one from them?

MissSilky - report from Oceanside is that there is no Bosch part available in Oceanside. Mercedes dealer said that there is a part there, but he does not know if it is Bosch. (!?) I am told that inquiry went to all sources - but it is not over yet. Found a Bosch part number on the forum and Oceanside inquiries are continuing . Right now I think we need the CA contingent to check in with Bosch product availability - wherever - to get you stabilized.

I am sending best wishes for a resolution to this............ Alicia
