Looks like I will no longer have to go online and waste time searching and converting pressure, humidity, temp, dew points, and all that crap to detemine the DA (huge PITA). I finally broke down and snagged a Kestrel 4000 off ebay for a song ($128 shipped). If it works properly, I will know the DA at the track within a few seconds of pressing a button.

I'm sure most of you are scraching your head as to why anyone would need this, but racers understand the significance of DA. Well, maybe it's not really that important, but I like to know the DA when I'm racing so that I know what to expect from the car on each run. Low DA, fast run. High DA, slow run.

PS - in usual tight a$$ fashion a couple of months ago, I bought a $15 one from china.

but it doesnt do all the things your kestrel does.....

It was more to cross check the Pitot tube I'm making for air flow measurement - ergo IC, Air intake, hot air ducting in the roof....etc....

 

Nice! I'm looking forward to hearing more about it's usefulness. If you decide to bracket race it will be indispensable to be successful instead of lucky.
