Default 10mm hubcentric with no lip?

I received my alledged 10mm 'Hubcentric' wheel spacer (as titled on ebay) and i noticed they dont have the center lips on them like my 15mm hubcentric spacer has. Did the chinese man (from NY) send me 'wong won'? I wanted to get my facts before i light him up with an email about sending the correct one. i know yet different from out XF's, ive seen on a google search and skim that other forums are saying 10mm is an odd size and to go with either an 8mm or a 12mm as there should be atleast a 10mm hubcentric lip on 12mm and up spacers.

I would guess, if it hasn't got the center lip, it is NOT Hub centric. Hub centric is intended for cars that use Lug Bolts to assist in fitting the wheel, by supporting the wheel while lug bolts are inserted, AND I would guess, assists in the reduced shear stress on the Lug Bolts. MAYBE a 10mm Spacer is not conducive to the Hub Centric concept, due to the length of the Hub length on the existing Car Hub ????

Correct, those are not hub centric. You can go about 3mm and the axle hub will still center but over that and you need a lip. It is more expensive with the lip as you need a wider billet to start.

Without a lip yu are taking a chance on vibration. They might work or might not.

You also need to make sure the lip/recess is the right diameter as different mfrs use different diameters (but most for passenger cars are between 60 and 75 mm). XF is 66.56mm

Yea i agree. They just def sent me thw wrong ones. I threw a red flag soon as i opened them out of packaging. Im just gonna return them and order from another vendor. Not sure why i didnt order them from the same place as the 15mm i bought. I was gonna say screw it amd order 12mm for the front but i really dont feel like returning the 50mm extended lugs that i just bought and buying 52mm ones. Does 2mm (.078) really make that much of a difference for this alteration if i were to attempt to use 50mm bolts on a 12mm spacer?

The key with lug bolts is the same as with lug nuts (just is easier to see with a nut): engagement.

I like at least five threads (five full turns) of engagement without bottoming.
