I guess the deal fell through. Again, who has these intakes and would you recommend my getting them and the ported "Y" or look for power some other way? $750. with the "Y" is a lot of cash for 20whp, if that.
Other than an idea I have for the exhaust system, which will likely not yield much I see nothing more to do to ma street car. I could just concentrate on my tires. I am a bit concerned if I stop the spin with sticky tires will the motor bog? Any ideas are welcome. Are their any stations in florida that sell 100 octane fuel. I did a google search that must be old because none so far have heard of such an octane!

Dont bother with 100 octane fuel, it will not yield you any more HP if your car is not tuned to run it. The stock tune is design to run with 91/93 as that is readily available through the USA.

You best bet is to focus on a good set of tires that accomplish what your trying to do with the car, rather that is drag racing or track racing there is a tire for you.

If you're up for it (and can find a suitable Y pipe) I'd go for Sify's intake design here....~$300 for local USA.
But the Y-Pipe is the sticker.

Instead of high octane, find a station nearby with non-ethanol gas. Here's the latest list for FL.....

Ethanol-free gas stations in the U.S. and Canada

And check here for pricing on 100LL AvGas...

If you are talking about the tweaked manifolds (SRT6 / SLK32 / C32 Tweaked Stock Intake Manifolds) I have them and the ported y.

I would say the manifolds should be one of the first things done to get rid of the restriction they have in stock form.

The language has me confused on these forums for the 3.2 motors. When the ported "Y" is mentioned in the same sentence we should be talking about modified stock intake manifolds, a cast piece. Between the 2 the cast is what...$750.? $599. for the intakes( along with a $500. core charge while a set are being prepped for another customer, and many see intake and see and it seems only see the dual cold air
INTAKES! Then NW has a set of sheetmetal intakes that are supposed to add 40+WHP across a wide rpm range that number I have yet to confirm, or it's duration. These sell for $1499. on sale with new bolts and gaskets. If anyone has tried both or has hard numbers on either please let your numbers speak! Mark

running 100 oct on a 93 file will reduce the potential for knock. its an easy way to keep knock down

The Sunoco station just north of Eau Gallie Blvd on US 1 has race gas from a pump. Last I saw it was about $7 a gallon.

There are two different areas we are talking here:

Air intake to the throttle body:
Stock there is a dual intake/filter setup that runs to a plastic Y before the throttle body. Needswings sells single and double replacements of this system. You can also build a system similar to what SyFy posted.

Intercooler to engine head:
Stock there is an aluminum Y to the two aluminum manifolds (that you see the SRT logo on). Needswings sells a ported Y and ported manifolds. They also sell sheet metal manifolds that flow even more. Several members have reported power increases across the RPM band which is of interest considering high rpm nature of the supercharger.

Well, another potential deal fell through. So I ordered a tune for 100 octane and am buying a 5 gallon pail of Torco Accelerator. New tires going on today also. I have quite a few parts to get installed and then see how the car runs. Some basic like an oil change, maybe a TRANSMISSION kit from NW. Plugs and wires. A heat exchanger and isolation kit, I think that will help with the power by keeping the timing up. Maybe the intakes are not for me to have

You can add all the fuel you want and even spark...but with out air....no more HP.... Well, not as much. A tune will always help as parameters are changed to all out performance. So you will see some improvement.

I would rethink that tune for 100 octane, if you travel at all, what do you do when you can't located 100 O fuel? There's plenty of power to be had, maybe you need to slow down and do
this a step at a time. Doc is right, more air is always the key to more power, in and out. We can't do much about the air out but that isn't as important with the SC as it would be with a N/A car. Search thoroughly the engine mods, figure out what you want to do, then do 1 and see what change it makes, then another, etc. If you do them all at once you won't know what did what.

Jerry(Eurocharged) said I could expect a 30HP increase with the race TORCO tune. I already have the TORCO and might as well get a tune and enjoy what it gives. The problem as i see it is the lack of a DYNO tune for these motors. Email has to be more conservative. I logged 19psi(I guess that high a boost figure has to do with the restrictive intakes and 19.5* of timing. Anyone have a log to compare what you high numbers for boost and timing? THX, Mark

After installing the K&N air filters 33-2256 - K&N Replacement Filters, Replacement Air Filter in the OEM intake, I noticed a significant improvement. They're some $45 a piece.

I guess you just got them then huh?
I just ordered mine last week with a catch can. Car already has K&N panel filters right now. But I never believed a K&N filter did anything better then a paper filter except for lasting a long time.

I am not familiar with his intake mods, have they been tested, like on a DYNO?

Anyone have a link to these intake mods?
