Default IC pump change question

I'm changing the old Bosch for new #10 and I see a small 1/8 inch tube coming off a post on the end of the old pump where the electrical connection is made. On my new pump this post is sealed. On the old pump it is open. Do I need to open the new post same as old? If so any recommendations on how best to open.

Thank you all for the wealth of information you have given over the years.

No need to do anything to the blank nipple. I just reattached the old pipe/tube to it just in case I ever needed it again.

Thank you onehundred80, That's what I did after noticing that the new pimp has a little black (what looks to be a) vent on that same side. When I figure out how to upload photos, I'll attach. Now it's time to wash the wheels and test. Thank you for your help.

I washed the front wheels and tested her. Then drove her to work (45mi.) She's a darling once again.

I suggest using 2 - 6 inch needle nose vice clamps on the hoses and a pair of 6 inch channeloc pump pliars for the spring clamps. The hardest part was getting the wheel well cover out. The whole job took 1.5 hours.

Thanks for the help.

I wouldn't. A pair of hose pinch-off pliers will give you a better chance of no damage to the hoses.

I second that, you can get a set of three at Harbor Freight for under $10.
