I did the same BMW IC separation tank others have done and I also have the "always run IC Pump mod" but looking in the BMW tank there is every little coolant coming out of the small fitting near the top of the BMW tank. Should there be a steady flow coming out the small top fitting ? Car runs great so I know I don't have a bad IC pump. Any ideas ??

I read about that tonight, going to try it in the morning. As I am running pump on all the time mod, guess I really shouldn't have to start the engine just turn the key on when I do that.

As tunaglove suggested(I think), it may be an air lock. Also, the BMW reservoir cap has a vent hole in it; so the vent hole should be above the high flow level of the IC system line. It's hard to tell from the pictures, but it looks like perhaps it is placed lower than the feed line? No evidence of weepage there?
Yep, it was air bound, I clamped the top intercooler hose and started getting a nice steady stream coming out. Got all the air out and unclamped it and still got a good stream of coolant flowing. All looks good !!!

Yes, you shouldn't be able to see the flow cascading out the top nipple. The flow should be under the fill level. You can check flow with your pinkie finger. Even after a good run at the track, my IC water temp. is never too hot to dip the pinkie in. It's nice to be able to monitor the fill with the reservoir. I anticipate that some day perhaps, I'll see it low and may have to buy one of Rudy's custom IC's.
What else would it be used for? When you completely separate the two systems, you can use different coolant fluid. For example, I use straight distilled water and a bottle of water wetter for the IC system for most all of the year. The reservoir serves to fill the system, flush the system, check the fill level, check to see if it's flowing well or not, drop a temp. gauge into it after a hot lap if you're in to logging that or not, can be fitted and used to pressurize the IC system to find/verify a leak(hopefully a hose end and not your IC!)
