Default 6speed crossfire X Clk55 AMG NA

Default New member. M113 Swao into a 6 speedHI All,

thank you for allowing me to join. I just picked up a 6 speed crossfire and a 2006 clk 55 AMG. I知 planning to swap the NA V8 AMG into the 6 speed for a project. Interested in the do痴 and don稚s, short cuts if any, list of parts needed. Links to a threads from previous forum members that have done the swap.

After the engine swap is complete, i will do a chassis swap. So I'm not worried about cutting to access. The crossfire body panels are being parted out and sold cheap. Available in Scottsdale.

Thank you

Rex

Hi guys. Quick update.
Getting ready to pull to the M113 from the CLK.

Unfortunately i don稚 have a lift here, so this might require some back yard engineering. Not sure if it痴 easier to pull both the engine and tranny in one shot and separate the two, or just pull the engine.

Electric:
I did notice the engine wire harness bundles up nicely and terminates at the ECU/fuse box. That痴 straight forward. Any wires that need to be unpluged that are hard to see?

Exhaust:
i have a couple of options. Saw Zaw from underneath and separate the down pipe once the engine is removed. Option two is the fight the rusty nuts that are backed and I知 guessing they are fused to the bolts with heat and rust. Definitely spraying some penetrant and let it soak.

Fuel:
looks like the fuel rail line is the only feed line and a return/vent line.
Any other?

cooling:
thats out of the way

alternator/AC Compressor/: going out with the engine.
thoughts

bell housing bolts: how may are attached and what痴 size are the bolts?

found the 3 mounting points on the engine.

How far forward does the engine need to move before it clears the bell housings vertically?

This is my project:

Engine is out, Transmission removed, time to power wash 20 years of oil leaks and reseal the engine. Who has the best prices on a seal kit?

Both engines are out, time to swap out parts. The CLK engine needed a different oil pan and a pump, waiting on parts again. The one I purchased from eBay was cracked. ECU and Das delete back from Josh. Need to source a vacuume tube hose kit, all the ones on the engine are dried up and brittle.

Hi Guys,

need help sourcing the correct Oil Pump.

The new pan came in and it looks fine. Vacuume lines and sealant on sight.

The problem: the oil pump i ordered on a recommendations is identical to the one that came out of the Crossfire in mounting bolt pattern. Off by a 1/4 - 1/2 hole. Please see pics.

Can anyone direct me to the correct pump.

Thank you in advance and happy New Year.

Looking for the owner of this pick as he swapped pans and hoping he can shed some light on the proper oil pump.

I want the engine stand from the above post! As for oil pumps, it will be best for you to get the pan, pump, chain and tensioner all from the same year range S- or CL-class as your engine. If you have a 2002 down engine, get pan, pump, etc from that earlier engine. 2003+ then get the same from a same generation S430/500 or CL430/500. They can be swapped between generations (usually), but you do occasionally run up against what your are seeing.

And I think we have a winner.

Looks like we have a winner. I知 excited to have this pump work, now I can close up the oil pan.
