De-Badged Yesterday... WISH I HADN'T!!!
Re: De-Badged Yesterday.... WISH I HADN'T!!!
Just leave the tail facing towards the hot sun eventually the darker shading (where the letters were) will fade. (dark paint attracts the sun more and heats up more, which leads to fading quicker than the light paint) Just forget about it, it will eventually blend in. Let us know what happens!

It's still there, but it is getting better I think. It may just be that using for daily duty through the winter has masked it. It needs buffing again BADLY, I hate washing the car in the cold, so it's been seeing commercial carwashes for the last couple of months. I'll buff it out again with a Fine Cut pad and see what it looks like in a couple of weeks.

I would say in time it will fade and blend in with the rest of the paint. The question is how long will it take?
Have you talked with any body shop people to see what they might advise?

goo-gone, and wd-40 definately work the best to take off the adhesive. as for your 'ghosting' problem. meguiar's makes a product that can deal with that... though for the life of me the name is escaping my memory... il look it up and edit the post... wait 5.
edited...
it is called meguiar's scratch x... i believe this may help, though i don't know if it will truly resolve just a faded paint issue... if it doesnt work it will come in handy for any future scratches... who knows.

But when I debadged it last July, I didn't notice any "Ghost" letters at all.
