Rag top care products
[FONT='Tahoma','sans-serif']Let me start by saying my xfire is my Sunday drive, take the cover off, put the top down and enjoy the sunshine. I've read several articles about rag top care products and most fall into two camps either ragtopp or 303 products. My question is which should one go with? I have never treated the top and I'm concerned that I use the right product from the start. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Ditto for RaggTop...once of twice a year and the water beads up on the top as well as on the rest of the car. Also helps with fading - a must in the Oklahoma sun.
I went with the 303 because is was locally available, and have had great results.
Don't think you'll go wrong with either product - just make sure you take the time to mask off the windows & windshield frame. Some use a paint brush or 3" roller to apply rather than spraying it on.

I've been using 303 in the marine environment for years on dodgers, bimini tops and the like,Good stuff.
I suspect that the RagTop products are every bit as good, though I haven't any experience with them.
I wouldn't recommend applying with a brush or roller, The trick is not to let the product penetrate the fabric. This photo was taken about six months after applying two very light coats of 303.

RaggTopp, 303 and Meguiar's Canvas Cleaner & Canvas Protectant are all excellent products. 303 and Meguiar's are usually available at West Marine and Boater's World stores so that may be a bit more convenient for you. I know the Meguiar's Canvas Cleaner does not need to be rinsed off and can just be sprayed on and agitated with a lint free towel like a quality microfiber. Does an awesome job.
I've not used the 303 personally but have used the RaggTopp products and find them to be excellent. Honeslty, I think you'd be hard pressed to choose between the three.

I haven't owned a rag top in 30 years. It used to be considered a good idea to leave the header unlocked if the car was sitting for a while to minimize stretching. Like in the garage over a winter period with nasty, salty roads. Is this not necessary or even recommended to do this with out modern fabric tops?
Ragg top is the only product used and recommended at the Corvette museum. I used it on mine and my buddy used it on his brown corvette roof with great results.
