Default Small Dings...

I got two small dings in the door from some retard that can't work a door!

Any way to fix em???

Oh, on a side note... I noticed that when I bought my car the dealer buffed it, and burned the paint in three places. Any way to fix that???

thx,

for the small dings there are Paintless Dent Removal companies. you could look them up in the phone book or you can actually take the car down to the body shop and they usually can call up the preferred company/technician.the burns in the paint can only be fixed by repainting. preferably youd paint the whole panel with the damage but some places will do "spot" jobs where they only paint the specific area and blend into the rest of the panel.

Agree with newCrossfire, Dentwizard/Dentdoctor is the way to go as long as the paint isn't broken. I have spent close to 400$ on dings and then I realized I had to do something.....I made a ding protector. There are pics in my gallery. Its not the prettiest thing in the world but I haven't gotten nailed since. The sad fact is that people don't care. You park in the "boonies" and they still feel they have to get right up next to you. The protector I made attaches to the wheel wells and is sturdy even in high wind. When it gets wet I throw it in the dryer. Its two swimming pool noodles covered in terry cloth. You want something that sticks out enough to keep their door off the side of your car. I always find an end spot and that goes on the exposed side.
The burned clear coat issue is probably better answered by Mike from Orange. My guess is that would have to be wet sanded and re shot with clear coat?

Nice device there. You apply that in public places?

anyplace I think I might get dinged. I know it looks funny but I don't care, NO DINGS!

rob that's a shame. The guy I go to also has to drill a hole in the side of the door and he plugs it. Its where the latch is and unless you know what you are looking for you'd think it was put there by the factory. I suggest finding a high end dealer in your area, Mercedes, Porsche, Jag and ask them who does their ding work. Sounds like you got someone that didn't know what they were doing. 100$ bucks a ding is pretty much standard. I also had this guy fix hail damage on my old PT Cruiser and his work was flawless. Over 20 dings and he got all of them out.

I love it. Maybe I need to create one of those. Great idea.

thx,
Did they go through the color on a panel edge or raised body line, or did they actually burn through in the middle of a panel? The former is fairly easy to do but the latter takes a real bonehead move to accomplish. Either way, there's no real fix short of repainting.
