Clay Bar BABY!
I just ordered the clay bar from Griots, had to wait till my Mequiars clay bar was used up, so we'll see how it compares as soon as it comes in. As far as "Z" goes, well, alot of people on other boards rave about it, but I'm not convinced and probably never will be. Now that I've tried Griots and learned more about them, they truly have the best products out there. I know they're not available in stores, just like "Z" isn't, but for what they put into their stuff, its #1 in my book. Case in point, the carnauba paste wax they offer is 33% carnauba content which is the most on the market today. They've even stepped up and offered a polymer, like "Z", its called paint sealant and its supposed to be good for ONE year, but they suggest adding their new spray wax to "enhance" your cars protection, kinda like "Z" has with their product. www.griotsgarage.com
well zaino works, i've tried everything ... i haven't tried griots because i'm not an idiot, spray on wax? why is that even an option? i don't see any pictures of cars on their site with their wax applied ... and the price is insanely expensive ...

i have used "3M perfect-it III" clay for quite sometime...its works the best of all clays (none of the negative characteristics of the griots bar). this is the best imo...i have tried many over the years.

I ordered the clay bar from Griots Garage and I can tell you guys that this is the best one I've tried to date (previous bars were Meguiars and Clay Magic). Even the way it feels is different. So if you lookin' for one that's a high quality and a better bargain (its actually bigger than the others I've tried!), then get this one. BTW, don't forget to tear into smaller pieces, as this makes it easier to work with and saves it incase you drop it on the floor (if that happens you've supposed to get rid of it). Good luck guys!
aero blue... how can you like the way the griots yellow bar sticks to your fingers and the cars paint? the meguairs nor clay magic bars do this.
i don't get it.
did i receive a "so called" bad batch? or is it just my fingers?

$20.00 for Best of Show
$20.00 for Carnauba Wax (33% content)
$18.00 for Paint Sealant
is expensive! Now I do agree about the clay bar being very sticky which in turn makes it hard to work with. I thought it was because its out in my garage and its been hot as heck here in SE MI this summer. Then again, maybe its supposed to be like that because they say theirs isn't as dense. In closing, don't call someone an idiot who uses a product that you don't even know about, calling Griots expensive, please!

if holly was your neighbor, would you want her to see you wearing gloves, because you had purchased an inferior sticky clay?

Now, where is the guy who's calling "spray wax" stupid when its just like Z9, or Z8, or Z7 or whatever they're calling it now. I think Zaino should change their name to "Jonestown" or "Drink the Kool-Aid". I can't get over someone saying they're stupid for offering spray wax and whats even more moronic is a Zaino person saying its expensive, that just doesn't hold any water (pardon the pun!).

i use this product after every washing. imo..."quick detailer sprays" are the best automotive chemical every produced!
i recommend "eagle one..wet" for black cars. this product doesn't streak black paint.
i purchase my "quick detailer" product through..."malco, called...showroom shine". i purchase it in 5 gallon form. this last me about a year or so.

When I got my x-fire I wet sanded and buffed all of the safe surfaces I worked in a body shop for 3 years, so don't just do it. The older the paint, the harder to get the sanding scratches out use 2000 grit then 2500 soft strokes in one direction than buff it out with 1000 rpm. And as many steps of compound you need I do 3, 1st use rubbing compound, then a mildly aggressive polish, then use a waffle pad and 3m perfect it 3. I am gonna get a digital camera, maybe I can get some pics up.
hmmm...one important fact that i have observed with polishing the Crossfire is the hard clearcoat. Crostfire2, when you mentioned "1000 rpm," were you talking about using a rotary? All I can say is that anything under a speed of 4 on the Porter Cable dual-action orbital 7424 will do almost nothing to remove swirls. High speed is important to get some polishing ability from the PC, as well as a fairly aggressive pad.
Mother's Claybar Kit, 15 clams...
The 4 oz bottle of carnauba BARELY waxes a squeaky clean XFI.
Next time I do this, I'll rub a little harder with the clay; I was first-time cautious, and the surface still has bumps that can be felt with the saran wrap test.
I'm gonna say it's a pain in the ***. I like piddling in the driveway as much as the next guy, but the whole shebang was every bit of two hours.
The biggest visible difference is the renewed sparkle to the metallic paint. The facets reveal a depth that clouded wax had slowly obscured.
