New proud owner with spots on my Graphite Coupe
New to me 05 coupe, I have cleaned and clay bar the car, waxed it and have some touch up paint on the way but I noticed a few spots that dont seem to want to come off, sorta like the are etched into the paint on the hood mostly. Maybe water spots? Nice paint on these cars and I dont want to screw it up using a brillo pad or something. What should I do to get them off?

Do not go at it hog wild or it could look worse in a hurry.
Like onehundred80 stated, you'll probably need a paint polish (Meguiar's Scratch-X kinda falls into this product line), finished up with a good wax and/or sealant. If the blemish is severe enough, you might have to start with a paint compound, then a polish to remove any swirls, followed by a good wax product. I use Meguiar's product line whenever I need to use this approach. If you have access to a buffer, makes the removal of a surface blemish somewhat easier. But it's not necessary in most cases.
Forgot to mention, in some cases, I will use a product like Prep-Sol to remove the wax in the spot before starting to deal with a blemish.

Is this damage below the clearcoat? If so polishing out the paint will require a repair of that clearcoat if I understand this process correctly, right?
.
I have the full line of Meguiars and a small air driven buffer for things like this, I do feel like the more I rub it the worse it gets! Pics to come soon. Honestly, the paint on this car BLOWS away anything else and I am on my way to bringing it back.
First try Dawn dish detergent for the areas, that will remove all of the wax. Second try a 50-50 mix of vinegar and distilled water. Thirdly, if the first two fail, try Meguiars Ultimate Compound with a DA polisher with an orange pad for those areas. If that doesn't work, the clear coat is damaged beyond repair.
Good Luck....

So it feels above the paint , I can feel it with my fingernail. It looks cloudy clear the size of a dime, like something sit on the car like leaves. The cowl was full of them. I will try some of the suggestions.
