Thanks for that Intense. I'm a little way off running the extra injector (or anything else for that matter!) as I am still wiring up the loom and need to get the plate machined. I am going to run the MS on top of the stock ECU (i.e. all the inputs connected but not the injectors) to make sure I am getting clean trigger, TP, MAP and temp signals.

I am still making up the loom but have actually been concentrating on building/programming my dyno box over the last couple of days. There is also the small matter of having to go an do a proper day job too.
I will be posting an update and more pics here and on my site at the weekend. The trouble is it takes almost as long to write stuff up and publish it as it does doing the actual work.

Ok, ok. I'm just dying to see you get that TBI manifold bolted up, ay, hurry up will ya...
You won't need a day job once you get all those gizmos for the XF working, I'm sure you'll make plenty of cash selling us performance aftermarket parts.

You could say that! I found out that I have had both my current and savings accounts drained by some bast@rd who stole my cards from my wallet. So ECU's have taken a backseat for a couple of days. I am going to continue with it tonight as I need to do some prep for the trackday this weekend. I have also been focusing more on the dyno box/ESP/ABS simulator. Stuff is happening, just slower than I would like. I also haven't had chance to update my site with the progress that I HAVE managed to make.

Just out of curiosity, but does anyone know who makes the Engine management computer for Mercedes Benz SLK/Crossfires??
Is it a bosch part?

Was flipping through an auto mag the other day and stumbled across an ad for NAPA auto parts, turns out they sell a ECM system too...I might have to look into this...

What a horror! I hope you have your funds restored and that the thief is caught, prosecuted, and jailed. Words are inadequate to describe what should happen to jerks like this. The worst thing, though, is that you can never recover the time you had to devote to this repulsive crime.

It's a Bosch Motronic as used on millions of other vehicles. Each manufacturer configures it for their application. You can buy replacements but you still need the individual software seed keys to be able to get into the code and change anything. There's a guy selling these on the internet at a few thousand Euros a pop depending on the application. He's someone who has been in the auto industry and acquired them by some means or other. He argues that if you are a remapping outfit you will recoup your money after a few jobs. More popular applications like GM have been hacked and the key generation algorithms are known throughout the tuning industry.

Thanks for the support Maxxm. I am going through the process at the moment with the bank's fraud department and the police. Whilst I will certainly get my funds restored (eventually) I don't hold out much hope of anyone being convicted. What annoys me the most is that the bank's security precautions were so lacking that someone could go into the branch and make multiple withdrawals just with my card! I couldn't even do that without photo ID last time I tried.

Best of Luck.

Thanks Bollox, thankfully I have nearly got everything straightened out with the bank now.

I was back at the track yesterday and did some work on the ECU. Still more to do but things are moving forwards. I've updated my site with progress.

Since the last post I have made some more progress with the ECU and actually had it running in parallel with the stock system. I still need to sort out the throttle position sensor and tidy things up a bit but so far so good.

Here's a video clip of it running:

Temporary lash up to determine routing etc.

Looks like you've been working hard on this project! How are you coming along on the multi port manifold, Have you had enough time to weld one up?

The manifold is still in the planning/CAD stage. The car is my daily driver so I have to keep it more or less in one piece. I need to take the car off the road for about a week to pull the induction system apart and take all the measurements for the manifold. But before I do the multiport I am going to machine up the 7th injector plate so I at least have a completed system that may be of use to someone. I will also be removing the air pump to try and get a bit more access to the induction system and generally simplify things. There is also the small matter of finding the 600GBP for the throttle bodies! A new set of tyres have had to take priority over that.

Hey sounds great.
If your looking for throttle bodies, my friend Wade Wilcox at WWE just finished production on his own T-bodies for the Cannondale fuel injected dirt bikes, they would be a perfect match for your manifold, If you would like more information I can get it along with some pictures. Price is about $700 a piece but for six throttle bodies he could come down in price to about $300 each.
I believe the flow rate on one throttle body is about 12% more efficient than the LT1 350 Chevy throttle body, sold by Arizona Speed and Marine..

Eventually he might make an entire induction system for v8 motors using the same throttle body, but right now he's just all dirt bikes.

Anyways can't wait to see what your manifold looks like!

Yeah, definitely interested in the TB's (my Cannondale only has pedal power!) I have based my design on the Jenvey's since they have extensive CAD drawings and info available, but there are some local guys CNC'ing up some direct to head TB's that I also considering due to the lower stack height. this would also keep the ultimate cost down due to the lack od a manifold. Also considered Triumph bike triple TB's which seem abundant but a bit small.

OK, I'll take some pix and post em up here for you to check out. Would you need to have the IAC ports or can you do with out them? One less step in the machining could drop the price some more, along with less parts to deal with...

Great. I can do without the IAC ports to start with to keep the cost down. I can always drill these later. What diameter are the TB bores? I assume they are butterfly not slides?
